Yeah, no. Music of some kind, maybe. Not rock. Marilyn is for the weedy little asthmatic kids that would have liked Kiss if not for all the Kiss fans beating the crap out of them after school every day.

Just because you don't like it does not disqualify it from being rock. It's rock. It's not ball-scratchin' Freedom Rock rock, but it's rock. Kiss? Also rock. Can't stand them, but rock.

Lumber Jack Off: /saw Manson a couple times in the 90's - he was a force to be reckoned with.

Saw them twice opening for NIN on the downward spiral tour. He was pretty much on top of his game at that point and it was still mostly comical. At the Atlanta show, you could hear people making fun of them between songs.

(csb)
Met him backstage at another show around that time and he was just creepy. Not show business persona creepy, genuinely creepy. My younger brother and his girlfriend were in high school at the time and were at the show, too. At the end of the show they snuck backstage with my passes (my fault for letting the kids hold on to them). I ended up flagging down one of the Jim Rose guys who was wandering around outside, and he took me promptly back there when I told him there were a couple of 15-year olds hanging out with Manson. When I approached them, he was holding a giant chalice filled with Skittles and trying to get the girl to eat them from the palm of his other hand. And then, of course, they threw us all out.

I'm old enough to think I have the right to disagree with that assessment, and dumb enough to think other people give a shjit. Kiss is a myopic, priapic embarrassment to any male over the age of fifteen, but so is Insane Clown Pussy, and now he's the farking President.

Marilyn Manson's entire oeuvre is a dumbed-down pastiche of pop cliches presented as pseudonihilistic grand guignol with more technology and less clarity of intent. Not saying he's not entertaining - I'm sure he is, but so is Dolly Parton, and I'll not be going out of my way to see either of them, as it were. And I don't think actually listening to his music or seeing him perform will change my mind. Now if you'll excuse me, I see a cloud that doesn't know my opinion of Rush.

They suck.

As someone who has seen every concert he's done in Dallas since '98, there are a few lately I regret.

Methinks he'll have to borrow Axl's prop for the rest of this tour.

Unlike Ms Morisette, Annie Lennox is quite intelligent.

My wife toured with them in the mid 90's, said Manson and the guys were always doing coke that they stashed in some super rare black ken doll.  She said Brian was nice, but not apparently enough to be alone with.

^ This.

Rolling Stone is now saying he's cancelled concert dates thru Oct. 14. No one seems to know if he's left the hospital or the nature of his injuries.

//saw him a few years back opening for Rob Zombie who was absolutely amazing.... Sadly, the same could not be said about Manson - very piss poor performance.
