So he got crushed by a giant handgun while singing "Sweet Dreams?" Those people got their money's worth.

No kidding. We saw him a couple of years ago, and he was terrible.

Glad to hear he's going to be alright, though.

As someone who has seen every concert he's done in Dallas since '98, there are a few lately I regret.

Methinks he'll have to borrow Axl's prop for the rest of this tour.

Met him backstage at another show around that time and he was just creepy. Not show business persona creepy, genuinely creepy. My younger brother and his girlfriend were in high school at the time and were at the show, too. At the end of the show they snuck backstage with my passes (my fault for letting the kids hold on to them). I ended up flagging down one of the Jim Rose guys who was wandering around outside, and he took me promptly back there when I told him there were a couple of 15-year olds hanging out with Manson. When I approached them, he was holding a giant chalice filled with Skittles and trying to get the girl to eat them from the palm of his other hand. And then, of course, they threw us all out.

Have you met a Kiss fan?

The majority of the Kiss fans I knew were varsity meatheads (a recently released Zeppelin album was a close second place, especially on the football team). All their taste was between their legs.

Most every Zeppelkiss* song from those years brings back memories of various quickies with various dickies, most of them either in a white pickup, a ghastly root-beer-with-flames el camino, or a parked school bus. There's a lot to be said for the days when girls didn't put out. At least as long as you're big enough to not get beat up.

The past ain't what it used to be.

* I was into proto-punk and King Crimson. Other people's music was at best background noise.

I'm old enough to think I have the right to disagree with that assessment, and dumb enough to think other people give a shjit. Kiss is a myopic, priapic embarrassment to any male over the age of fifteen, but so is Insane Clown Pussy, and now he's the farking President.

Marilyn Manson's entire oeuvre is a dumbed-down pastiche of pop cliches presented as pseudonihilistic grand guignol with more technology and less clarity of intent. Not saying he's not entertaining - I'm sure he is, but so is Dolly Parton, and I'll not be going out of my way to see either of them, as it were. And I don't think actually listening to his music or seeing him perform will change my mind. Now if you'll excuse me, I see a cloud that doesn't know my opinion of Rush.

They suck.
