Hey, subby. Just because we grow up and move on, doesn't mean things we no longer follow cease to exist. I'm not surprised Dark Horse is around. And considering the shiat Marvel and DC pumps out in a lot of their overpriced comic lines, I'm glad Dark Horse is still around.

The final thing that made me give up comics was Todd McFarlane and the crap Spawn became after awhile.

CSB time:

There was a special mail in giveaway Dark Horse did for their Aliens comic (I think, it might have been AvP). I sent mine in and waited but nothing arrived. So eventually I went to their office in Milwaukie and told the receptionist what had (or rather, hadn't) happened. She gets on the intercom and a few minutes later out comes none other than founder Mike Richardson himself with the issue and a personal apology.

I'd already been a fan but that cemented my loyalty.

Tourney3p0: There is no need to go all hipster about this.  No one who doesn't follow children comics knows anything about them.  No one knew they existed in the first place.

DH published the many Star Wars comics as well as many japanese to english manga titles through out the nineties and 2000s.  Again because you're not aware of it doesn't make your statement close to truth.

BarkingUnicorn: Grabbing people by the crotch and biting their ears?  What's his Fark handle?

Goddam comics biz sounds like casual Friday at Fox.

Well, the stereotype of the socially awkward and sexually immature comic-book fan is pretty true.

Yeah, Dark Horse is still around

And it is spectacular

I have a couple Double Crooked Trees aging in the back closet. I might have a Plied the 5th too.

Their tasting room is awesomely small and in the middle of nowhere. I did the lower Michigan belt where I started in Detroit and went to New Holland and back, stopping at Bells, Founders and Dark Horse.

/I think I still have the awesome Aliens series that should have been the guide for the Alien3 movie.

mcmnky: Somehow Dark Horse is still alive, despite putting out things like this.

Now where's that cheese dip?

I think the various Groo mini-series have been the only Dark Horse books I've bought over the past fifteen years.
/Did I err?

I gave up when they rebooted Hellblazer.

I gave up on Hellblazer when Constantine lost his cigarette when an airplane exploded. After all the shiat he's seen mundane stuff like that shouldn't faze him.

Counter-point: the more terrible sh*t you've been through the faster you react to adverse stimuli.
