PERFECT
The GOP has now put the government on defense mode.
We are so boned in this position. Recovery is gonna be messy. A smart politician would cut losses early.
We are so boned.

The House GOP is scared donors will withhold the cash or even run primary candidates against them in revenge.

It must be hard being a toady beholden to powerful men who do not give a fig for you personally and will spit you out in a second.

The GOP gerrymander chickens have come home to roost.  This is a monster of they're own making...hard to bulldoze every bit of liberalism as "Team GOP" when you've moved your base consistently further right. Have fun with that.

Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), who is close to the House GOP leadership, says colleagues are frustrated with a handful of senators "overruling the will of the entire House."

Am I wrong in remembering that the Republican Health bill was so crappy that even the House couldn't pass it by more than 217-213?

So "will of the entire House" seems to be somewhat ingenuous.

It's not a fear it's a fact  Folks like the Koch brothers are no longer even PRETENDING they don't own the GOP and have openly said "the piggy bank is closed" and they are withholding $400 million in campaign cash from the GOP until tax "reform" is passed (quid pro Quo if I ever saw it)

So the "entire House" passed the bill, but only a "handful of senators" (and not, say, a majority) overruled them? Sure thing, Tommy.

Hey, GOP. I've got an idea for you: stop trying to ram through that  crap nobody wants . Every one of the bills you're complaining about have been such stinkers that not even all your own members would support them.

Come up with bills that your own party and even Democrats can live with, and you'll get things passed.

What also steams me is the fact that Trump's electoral victory thwarted the will of the American people  I realize that was how it was designed to work, but I don't think acting like you have a mandate from the American people is the way to approach such a victory.  You would be wise to reach across the aisle and remember your opponent got way the fark more votes than you ever dreamed of getting.  More Americans rejected you as President, you should act like it sometime.

"What we did differently in this go around is we spent the last four months basically working together, the Senate Finance Committee, the House Ways and Means Committee and the White House, making sure that we're on the same page," Ryan told CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Thursday morning.

Isn't that basically what you did with the repeal efforts?  You might not have included the White House when congessional leadership was writing the bills, but it's not like Trump's contribution of "I'll sign anything" was that limiting.

Buuuulsh*t. The "framework," as sh*tty as it is, is not the challenging part. The hard part is going to be getting rid of all the so-called loopholes, each of which is considered an important tax incentive to some influential constituency, and all of which have been handwaved away in the "tough work" these assholes are bragging about.

Bi-cameral -- goes both ways, camel ride good for round trip
Bifurcated Parliament -- twice as many obstacles by design

My uncle's father actually, with other upper house member friends, ended a his two house state parliament, by voting their upper house out of existence. It was doing nothing. Most of the members were off to London for years.  A hundred years later, Queensland still only has one house, and no upper house.  The Lords should try that!

Exhibit A: pretty much the only tax break that has been identified for elimination, the state and local tax write-off, is already threatening to kill the reform effort, with the "big six" now signalling they're willing to renegotiate to keep it alive. On day one.

"Donald Trump won with an electoral landside and his three big campaign points were ObamaCare repeal, tax reform and border security. For a handful of senators to derail that agenda is very frustrating," said Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas).

Donald Trump got 63 million votes.
Senate Democrats collectively got 51.5 million.

BUT - we also have to remember that sixteen states didn't even have senate races.  Adding up the totals for just the states that had senate elections, Trump only got 48,637,423 votes.

Seems to me like that by holding up Trump's agenda, Senate Democrats are just obeying the will of the people.

We'll just let the facts that top of the ballot races naturally get more votes than down ticket races and that DonTCare couldn't even pass his own party slide.
