"Not True.The drug does not cause an increase in those things. It just don't prevent it. That is a side effect of other drugs used to treat joint pain. Vioxx targets a very specific type of inflammation, and does it well, but does not target other types that are associated with heart attacks and strokes. Other drugs are/were more broad spectrum anti-inflammatory.
