Some Guy In A Waistcoat: I actually remember the first game I played on a C64. Darkman - which was actually pretty damn good for a game based a movie. Especially at the time.

I had so much fun on the C64 back in the day (and the VIC 20). The memory sticking out in my mind at the moment is Impossible Mission lol.

Impossible Mission (C64): Another visitor! Stay a while; stay forever!

Just to help out others who may be on the fence for Mutant Football League

http://store.steampowered.com/app/529520/Mutant_Football_League/

There's a free demo.

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but the question was asked, so here's my info:

Current game: Stellaris, with the Star Trek New Horizon mod. I'm not that far into it yet, just 3 hours, but damn, it is fun, and the music is excellent. Sometimes I stop playing and just listen to it for a while. Very soothing.

Old game: Xenonaughts. Three missions in so far, one dead soldier (threw a grenade next to a dude, thinking he still had time units left. He did not. R. I. P.). Also great fun. Graphics are meh, but I have never really cared much about graphics if the game play is good.  It is.

Have you tried the free demo for the sequel?

https://www.gog.com/game/xenonauts_2_demo

Xenonauts is awesome. Just whatever you do don't watch Matthis's attempted LP of it. It's like watching someone try to breakdance.

"Okay guys I promise I'll use tactics this time."

(does stupid thing)

"OMG he died! WTF!"

I might give that demo a try to see if they've fixed that nebulous something that didn't manage to grab me in the first game. It might even tide me over until Phoenix Point finally comes out.

Grither: Wow, no love for Heat Signature in this thread? That's what me and all my friends are currently obsessed with.

It is my current gaming obsession; 36 hours so far, and loving it (even when I massively screw up, heh.) I have noticed that it becomes more of a planning game the longer your characters survive. The potential for epic stories is fairly high, too. I love running into a room with five guards, slamming two of them in the face with dual-wielded wrenches, throwing both wrenches to knock out two more guards, and then teleporting one of the wrenches back into my hand to knock out the fifth...all in a few seconds

I had to divert some time to Eve Valkyrie: Warzone, since we're interviewing and livestreaming with at least one of the dev team on our podcast today (three and a half hours from now.)

Noted, thanks for the warning. I did watch Scott Manley do a play through of Xenonaughts. He was quite good at it, as I recall. I'm still learning the game, and it's been challenging, but lots of fun so far. Still only one KIA!

NathanAllen: Finally got bored and bought Mad Max.

Man that game is fun.

That game is the gold standard for what a movie tie in should be.

Cuphead came so I've been playing that. Surprised there is no mention of it in this thread.

Just a quick heads up. If the Mutant Football League demo doesn't work for you there is a patch coming. A number of antiviruses (Avast, Avira etc) flag it once it's running, essentially causing it to hang.

The devs are looking into the situation and will patch it.

AgentKGB: Sorry for the multi posting... it's the 35th anniversary of the Commodore 64 so guess what's coming

Too bad it doesn't ship with any games worth a sh*t.

If it's anything like the C-One you could easily just throw a bunch of disk images at it for whatever you want to play.

Is there any deal is your friend. Highly recommended.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out, sometimes I hate that I'm so cheap but there are too many good games already, no reason to spend more than I have to.

Played the CoD WWII Beta.

PSA: It sucks. It feels like Modern Warfare with a skin.

You're welcome! Think of all the extra games you can get with the money saved! :D

Sorry for the double post. I restarted the same dungeon (using the same code) with a female Elf Cleric, and I'm doing much better now. (I was tired of getting one shotted lol).

Rolled the stats, didn't fudge the numbers. (Gauntlets of ogre strength take me from 16 to 19)

1st floor was goblins and orcs with one ghoul
2nd was troglodytes, hobgoblins and a wererat
3rd floor is ghouls and wererats

And Floor 4 is full of Sheet Ghouls. o_o

On the plus side they're 520 xp each! I just hit level 6 as well :D

Yeah the game list is kind of... odd.
