Joe's been huffing too much coal dust, if you ask me.

Why else would the GOP cut taxes if they weren't doing it for the wealthy?  That makes no sense whatsoever.  Tax cuts are for the 1%.  Everyone else gets benefit cuts.

How many times do we have to cover this material?

EvilEgg: What has inspired this confidence?  His track record of "telling it like it is"?

The fact that he's up for re-election, and his constituents are part of Trump's personality cult and they can't abide any criticism of their demigod.

What kind of math do they have in WV?

I read about it on the internet, so I believe it too.  They can't put anything on the internet that isn't true.

The fact that the lunatics of West Virginia -- Trumplandia -- tolerated Senator Joe voting with the dirty Democrats to protect Obamacare.

That's as far off the reservation as they'll let him go.  He's got to be in favor of tax cuts or they'll skin him alive.

Because the poor people of WV know they'll be rich someday and don't want Uncle Sam takin' all their monies.

And Donnie is going to get rid of the death tax so they can leave their shack down in the holler to their kids and the gubmit won't take it away from 'em.

And if you think I'm kidding, you have never been to Appalachia.

I'm sitting on my train listening to a bunch of privileged whites biatching about taxes and trying to assert how Trump's tax plan is going to make them rich.  They're not doing so hot.

/Actually, I moved so I didn't have to hear them biatch about taxes

Trump may well decide to punish anyone who has more wealth than he does.

2017-09-28 05:04:08 PM
How can anyone say that with a straight face?  The top rate is being decreased. That is a tax cut for the rich. AMT is to be emoted, that is a tax cut for the rich. Estate tax is to be removed, that is a tax cut for anyone with more than $5 million in net assets (so, rich).

And for Trump, the passthrough rate to 25% is a massive, unprecidented tax cut since most of his income is received via passthroughs (at least according to his accountant). And while this one doesn't only benefit the rich like the above ones I mentioned, it primarily benefits the rich.

Tax rates go down on corporations and the wealthiest Americans.  Estate tax gets repealed.

Tax rates go up on the poorest Americans.

Benefits that comprise the social safety net are cut.

Corporate subsidies are increased.

This is how America dies, and all the while Trump keeps the masses distracted.

why do you have to lie in every farking thread?

the ESTATE tax only kicks in if a couple stands to inherit an estate of $11 million or more. ($5.5 million individually). There are precisely ZERO non-rich people affected by the estate tax. Getting rid of it is, by definition, a tax break for the rich.

tl;dr version: stop lying, you farking lying liar.

I wouldn't even trust him that much. They can put a bunch of $$$ into the new health care bill for WV, and he'd vote for it on that basis alone. Then what good is he for for the Democrats in that case?

I don't mind letting him twist in the wind for a bit - if he survives his primary, then vote for him, but don't give him cash. Make him work as a campaigner.

except the GOP didn't bribe him and he held the line so your hypothetical falls apart in the face of what actually happened. The fact that the GOP didn't even TRY to bribe him should tell you that it was a non-starter.

I agree with you that he's maddening at times, but he votes with the dems when it really matters while having to appeal to a derpy conservative constituency. No way he's replaced with anyone but a Republican when he goes.

No, I would prefer that local activism in WV get its shiat together and produce a good candidate that has the interests of West Virginians in mind, not just coal companies.

The stop gap "b-but a REPUBLICAN might get elected" bullshiat is really getting old.
