The only question I have about Thomas the Tank Engine's universe is: exactly what in the ever-loving fark do Thomas' drivers/engineers do while sitting in that cab? Are those the "no work" jobs Sir Toppem Hat lines up for his idiot nephews?

Their soul is slowly eaten by the train until they kill themself by sacrificing their blood to the ballast and the tracks under the wheels of the engine they've served.

They are workers operating in a collective fashion to take advantage of automation, rather than being displaced by it.

"What moral lesson are kids supposed to learn from this? "Do as you're told or you will be entombed forever in the darkness to die?"

My parents believed in this sort of teaching.  As a child, I didn't meet them in the church parking lot  soon enough after Sunday school, so they left me there.  For over an hour.  At age 6.  I had brand new glasses,, didn't recognize anything, and got lost.  When they did come back and found me sitting in the middle of the parking lot, crying, I got my ass BEAT for getting lost.  Nice.

When there are no more Confederate flags flying from your pickup truck and/or trailer park, we can talk about "getting over" stuff.

I read this a couple hours ago and it's still bothering me. I remember watching it with my son some 15+ years ago and thinking there were some really dark and heavy episodes.

Crazy to read that it's justified. Kid's shows should aren't screened enough. Those damn homosexual, druggie Teletubbies started it all.

/my vision of this uprising is titled "blood on the tracks"
//it will not be peaceful

I miss the old days of the 60s, 70s, and 80s when kids shows were nightmare fuel and it was clear that every episode was the brainchild of one demented writer rather than a team of multicultural psychologists writing safely inoffensive stuff
