In our house, "believe me" at the end of any sentence has become short for "I'm telling you something wildly untrue, and you should have realized that by now, but here's the signal just in case"

"No, I didn't forget about the kids' swim meet and would way rather be there than my with my buddies grilling and drinking a few beers, believe me!"

Well, one thing you can be certain of is that he is lying.

Since I'm not well versed with these things, is this something that the CBO "scores"? Does anyone provide a real, basic, unbiased breakdown of what is proposed? I mean after they finish the damn thing and stop trying to sell us a plank piece of paper, that is.

Well, strictly speaking, if you paid $0 last year, and you're going to pay $0 under the new plan, it isn't technically any better for you.

2017-09-27 08:12:37 PM
He's lying.

It's unfortunate that no one in the "liberal media" will ever actually call him out on lying, though. They'll just regurgitate what he says unchallenged like they always do.

Let's just feed "It's not good for me" into the (patent pending) "Trump Phrase Un-Derpinator" annnnnd...

It actually means he wanted solid gold hookers as well but was told they'd die.

Some of them are starting to do "Trump Says X, Despite Not X". They still can't get past the quibble that technically you have to know you're making a false statement to be lying, and they can't print the word "bullshiat".

The CBO will most likely score it, but they will use dynamic scoring. And Ryan picked the head of the CBO.

Dynamic scoring means that tax cuts of X amount generate Y amount of growth. The problem being defining the relationship between X and Y. Supply side economists think Y is always enough to pay for X, ie the magic Larger Curve that goes to infinity at a tax rate of zero.

Yeah but that argument is lazy at best.

The real Answer is that Trump doesn't know if it's good for him or not because he doesn't know anything about both this bill or his own taxes. He would need a basic grip on one or both of these things to even hazard a guess.

The cowardly media says because he doesn't know either way he's not intentionally trying to deceive and therefore not lying, but that's a fallacious argument:

If he doesn't know either way and Says something authoritative then he is lying. He's saying he knows what's in the plan and how it will affect him, but he doesn't know either of those things.

Therefore he is intentionally misrepresenting himself for the purpose of persuading the people listening to him. This is the literal definition of lying.

We all knew this was coming when the whole goverment was taken over by the Republicans.
They have three goals.
1) Cutting taxes on the rich.
2) Instituting psuedo-Sharia law.
3) Wiping out Obama's legacy.

Are we truly at a point where we can just make shiat up and everybody automatically believes it's true?

It's not good for me, but it helps you! Except for that part where I get to keep a crapton of cash and you get noodled out of even more dimes from your laughably small paycheck.

OK, got it, and thank you for that. So in other words, NO, there will not be any real, basic, unbiased breakdown... at least not from the CBO.

And great, I'm getting sick of these magic projection assholes; it never works out like they claim. They can't accept that slow and steady is the way for growth because it isn't easy for them to quickly capitalize on.
Looks like we are headed for another Republican economic downturn...
(name one recent R-ministration that did otherwise)

Oh well, I plan for bad times, so I'll do fine, especially if tomorrow's interview works out.

Well according to him he has made BILLION on real estate capital gains.

So removing the estate tax and because when you die costs basis sets to current market value - By what Trump has told us it would save him HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars!!!

So wait how does that farking not help him?

2017-09-27 08:46:56 PM
I'd love to see it proved revenue neutral as well.

And not based on "projected increased growth".

UseUrHeadFred: Well, strictly speaking, if you paid $0 last year, and you're going to pay $0 under the new plan, it isn't technically any better for you.

Well except for that part when he dies his kids would then have to pay inheritance tax. Now they won't so they will get his billions in real estate tax free!! Plus on top of that the costs basis moves to the curren market value so when they sell it they still pay NOTHING in taxes!

THAT'S HOW! Any questions?
