By allowing Trump to mislead, lie and make personal attack Twitter has been not just complicit, but instrumental in the raise of nationalistic and racist hate in the US

The government would not dare interfere with the invisible hand of the free market for the good of the nation, because what is good for the free market is automatically good for the nation.

Let Trump continue tweeting. He does nothing but get himself in more trouble and/or blow up issues that should not have blown up when he tweets. For instance: Before his NFL tweets, only a handful of players took a knee. Now it's over 250 and it's spreading to other sports. The movement would not have garnered such awesome PR if the President hadn't given it his ringing anti-endorsement.

It's a double edged sword, and while Trump's base likes that he can get around the media and deliver his message to them directly, at the same time it has revealed him to be a narcissistic, thin-skinned, insecure little snowflake who can't stand disloyalty of any sort. We would not have known that about him if it weren't for Twitter. He has shown us what a thoroughly awful person he is.

He might think Twitter is how he's winning at Presidenting, but it will be his downfall more than anything.

That's not true!

You people that think this is harmless are nuts. Twitter and Facebook will be responsible for when we get attacked, when the United States is a memory. Think I'm kidding? You're lying to yourself if you don't think we're headed that way. People are too damn stupidto be given access to the internet and access to social media. I'm a professional app developer who has been the lead architect at multiple companies over the last 8 years. I hate, hate the web. It needs to go away, now.

"Just let Trump tweet! We have a right to know! HURRRRR"! GTFO with that crap. People don't have a "right" for anything not outlined in the founding fathers documents. You don't have a right to shiat, certainly not to validate your pointless existence with other assholes on the damned internet. Society will pay the price for our misguided arrogance.

Facebook was merely a tool, but the more we find out the more it looks like they kinda just whistled and cashed a lot of checks made out in rubles over the last few years.
