Oh Donnie...you have so much more to lose here. So very much more. Just keep doing what you're doing, and watch how it all shakes out.

Seriously, man. You could have kept laundering money for Russian gangsters and oligarchs, but you HAD to let your ego get in the way, didn't you? You had to get back at the people who have laughed at you since your jumped up little clan of thieves and crooks pinched enough swag to raise yourselves out of the gutter, and swipe at everyone who laughed at a short fingered vulgarian...and THIS is what happens when you get out of your element, Donnie...

I don't want Moore to win.  But there is a huge gold-n-silver lining to it...

Roy Moore will join forces with Ted Cruz to see which one of them can be more hated and ignored in the U.S. Senate.  Neither have any real power except to disrupt their own caucus.

And as a team, they will do more to raise money for the Democratic Party than Obama, Carter, Hill anry and Bill Clintons, combined.

I said in one of the seventy-three other Alabama run-off outcome threads that Alabama isn't nearly "purple" enough for Roy to lose. Heck he could probably die before the election and still win in that state.

Sadly, you are probably right.  But I personally know a couple die-hard R voters who have said they will vote for Jones in December.  So there is the slightest hint of a hope.

Who am I kidding?  It's Alabama, home of the derpiest farktard voters in the country.

It's almost as if Trump endorsed Strange in order to tank him, since Strange was favored by McConnell and Moore is an abrasive asshole like Trump himself.

But Trump lacks the self-awareness and tactical skills for such a maneuver.

If I remember right, Alabama doesn't have a single elected Democrat above the county level.  To get someone elected to the US Senate would require more than a handful of Republicans turning scab.

If anything, that would insure Trump campaigned against him.  Trump hates not being the biggest coont in the room.

In normal times this kind of thing is just part of doing business.  Contested primaries happen.  There's some complaining behind the scenes but everyone reconciles behind the winning candidate so they can win the real election.

Of course these are not normal times so who knows what will happen.  Trump will probably endorse the Natural Law candidate or something.

This is the guy who considers foisting a billion dollar business failure off on his creditors and taxpayers a win.

I find it hard to believe he won't be able to convince himself this was a win as well. It's not like he's ever been burdened with a preoccupation for facts or reality before.

If I recall correctly Strange was one of his early backers. This was likely an instance of "You had my back so I've got yours" than anything else.

It requires a congress willing to uphold the law, even if the president is from their own party.  Thanks, GOP.

The president had previously expressed his discomfort with his endorsement, saying at a rally for Strange late last week that he "might have made a mistake."

What a stalwart and faithful ally!  Who wouldn't feel confident having such a man in their corner?

2017-09-27 02:22:50 PM
Both of those assholes made it a contest to see who was the most loyal to Trump.  It might have been a blow to his ego that his endorsement didn't carry Strange but Moore is still going to suck his dick in the Senate.

It's a rare day for America that so many of us are celebrating the win of a farkwit like Moore, just because it makes the top farkwit look and feel bad.

To be fair, he already looked bad. Like moldy spraytanned biscuit dough in a cheap wig and an ill-fitting suit.

I'm all in favor of him always feeling bad too, but can we try to do it by electing sane, competent people from now on?

Trump endorsed Strange because he has no idea what he's doing and he doesn't care to learn. If he was paying the minimum amount of attention he would've realized that Moore is his kind of guy (a huge asshole).

If he dies before the election he'd be even more likely to win--those who might have stayed home or crossed the aisle can safely vote for him, knowing they'll get generic southern Republican to replace him and never face the embarrassment of Moore being in the Senate.
