Neither Spicer nor Mead responded to multiple requests for comment.

"I'm not going to discuss that issue at all"

You would too if you were him, considering.

Spicer is not the first White House official to bring on legal help. White House Communications Director Hope Hicks recently retained Robert Trout, of the firm Trout Cacheris & Janis.

Is this a law firm or a fly fishing equipment company?

There's a law firm called "Heron Fox Trout & Sherry". No word on whether they have any lawyers in their alcoholic menagerie.

...he took detailed notes throughout the presidential campaign, which may be of great interest and use to Mueller...

OMG, it's Season 6 of Veep. He might as well have just dropped his notebook on Maureen Dowd's desk.
Can't wait to see his testimony if he ends up in front of Congress.

I find it amazing that he did not take his boxes and his notebooks from the White House and drive straight to Mueller's office and ask if they had any questions at all.

I would have after getting the Two Scoops Exit Treatment.

Janus was a two-faced Roman god. I don't think I'd want an attorney named that.

I give some of the people that joined the administration somewhat of a pass. He's a veteran and when asked to serve he did. He did some some really bad lying but he also bailed on them at an early point.

Mead specializes in white collar criminal defense and Congressional investigations, as well as issues related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act--a law that bars Americans from bribing foreign government officials.

Man, you mean his little stunt at the Emmy Awards didn't suffice as a "reset button" for all of his many comical/harmless peccadilloes? Guy needs to live in a cage for a few years.

Janus presided over beginnings and endings, doorways and passages. One could do a lot worse.

Hope Hicks probably needs both. Lord knows she's had to fish out a tiny wedding ring on more than one occasion.

I'm sure he'll crowd source it like the rest of them. Arpaio, Flynn, Trump.

What I want to know is why anyone would sign up to work there now considering they must be aware their future employment prospects will be dim and likely will have a legal bill that runs many multiples of what they ever earn at the job.
