What a f*cking dickbag.

Well, sorry Puerto Rico. Those 3.5 million people flooding the inner cities should be all kinds of fun.

There's no way these clowns (Admin) will be able to deal with this properly and Trump points out why. Wall Street is going to strangle the place. I think John Paulson dumped a few billion in there. There is no way an administration staffed with that many people from Wall Street is going to put people and humanitarianism before owed debts.

Said this in another thread - the GOP would figure out a way to use the hurricane as either leverage or punishment for their temerity in requesting statehood and agitating for more inclusion as part of the United States.

Trump is clearly an asshole, because the implied threat here is that the United States will not assist Puerto Rico until Puerto Rico meets our financial and political demands first. But Trump's not saying anything that wasn't already implied by both Wall Street and Congress, and implied for the last decade or so.

The fun part, of course, is that Trump may have just swung the island from "let's join the U.S." to "let's become an independent country," because it's clear that we're not interested in treating Puerto Rico like a valued U.S. territory.

He made sure to say PR was farked long before the hurricane so, obviously, anything bad from noe on isn't his fault.

GWB tried that with Katrina.

But GWB did not deploy the Neo-Nazi movement to shamelessly promote the "brown people are naturally dumb freeloaders" undertone.

Didn't say "kick PR out." Puerto Rico had a few recent votes on whether their government should push for statehood, push for independence, or retain their current status. To be fair, Congress has worked hard to keep Puerto Rico as they are, for a number of reasons - but Puerto Rico's starting to outgrow territorial status.

Our lukewarm response to their catastrophe, and Trump's clear willingness to exploit that catastrophe for political leverage, isn't helping.

I think it's going to cost the NFL viewers if nothing else. Viewership was already down this season. Lopping off the R base isn't going to help numbers any.  But you're right, I don't know what he's going to gain outside of a big "Murica! Fark yeah!" from the mindless wombats.

You know those videos of the people crying and wailing when Kim Il sung, or Mao, or when other crazy dictators die? Trump is certain that's going to happen to the whole country when he dies.

I think the mainland would benefit from a few hundred thousand - lets call it an even million - relocation of our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters to the mainland until the infrastructure is restored.

They can settle throughout all the red states around the South.  I would certainly welcome it. Then let's see the willingness we can generate to get the island back on its feet.

Much of the Island was destroyed, with billions of dollars.... owed to Wall Street and the banks which, sadly, must be dealt with.

What the fark difference does that make, Trump? You don't pay sheit back, why should they?

In 2005, Trump borrowed $640 million from a group of banks, including Deutsche Bank, to build his Chicago tower. But by 2008, the real estate market had gone bad, and Trump was in financial trouble. Shortly before he was due to pay Deutsche Bank $40 million for a portion of the loan he had personally guaranteed, Trump filed a lawsuit against the German bank, demanding $3 billion to compensate him for the international economic turmoil that Trump claimed the bank had helped cause and that Trump now said was hurting his investment in Chicago.

That is The Art of The Steal.

It sounds like a banker told him, "Don't let Puerto Rico off the hook for that debt! Tell the world they still have to pay and soon, or else!"

Hm. Let's see. They did have Geraldo Rivera do a segment on Maria, which, if Trump caught it, may have been the first time he realized the gravity of the situation there.

Meanwhile, this morning one of the hosts criticized Trump's overreaction to NFL stars' kneeling for the Star Spangled Banner. If he'd lost Fox and Friends on that question, perhaps Trump decided it was time to change the subject (again).

I got so sick of hearing about the media getting so fixated about the NFL and the protests that I just donated some money to the Red Cross to help  with efforts in Puerto Rico.

I also posted on Facebook stories from Puerto Rico and asking people to donate as well. Whether or not people will pay attention to my post will be another story since it doesn't involve a flag.

I really don't want to have to admit that the president of the United States would rather start (and lose) a twitter slap fight to the NFL than have to allocate disaster relief to puerto rico and save a bunch of brown people.  racism on that level is approaching 'war crimes at the Hague' kind of stuff, ya know?

During the press briefing today there were like 5 times as manu questions about the NFL than there were about PR or NK. Tweeting is cheap and easy, and it distracts from his other failures.

1) The reveal of Jared's private email account being used for government business was leaked on Sunday, and the Administration knew it was coming this weekend
2) Trump's chosen candidate in the Alabama Special Election Primary is more than likely going down on Tuesday.
3) Repeal & Replace Take #3,472 had multiple 'No' votes from Republicans going into the weekend

So, 3 big things that Trump needed a major distraction from over the course of a few days to try and lessen the impact.

The content of the tweets was fair comment as far as it went, and Trump possibly flattered himself he sounded fair-minded and thoughtful.

PR was in bad shape before Maria, with unsustainable debt levels, an economy that had been contracting since 2006, and a poorly-maintained power grid prone to failure at the best of times.

FEMA aremoving much faster than they did in 2005. It helps that (as even Governor Rossello hinted) the GOP have much less to gain and more to lose this time by delaying relief efforts, and encouraging mass emigration of Puerto Ricans (i.e. Democrats) to the mainland ahead of the 2018 and 2020 elections.

The real question is why he appeared to take so long to notice the crisis at all, even after signing the disaster area declaration.

Perhaps he realized the spat with the NFL was backfiring and he needed something else to distract from the Russia thing.

Possibly (who knows?) he genuinely didn't realize the gravity of the Puerto Rico crisis till he heard Geraldo talk about it on Fox and Friends.

Trump is f*cking with rich people's money flow.  that won't end well for him.  in fact, that's probably what's going to end up being the biggest factor in his impeachment.  rich people won't support him anymore, he's hurting their bottom line.  no rich people, no GOP.
