"I think what's important about this plan is it creates a middle-income tax cut. It makes businesses competitive and it creates jobs. That's what this is all about."

Tax cuts don't create jobs. Demand creates jobs. Disposable income creates demand. Higher wages create disposable income.

What's really needed? A narrowing of the difference in incomes between the classes.

You take your economic witchcraft and GTFO.  Everyone knows the Reagan-era economics plan is the only one that actually works, since they keep using only it since a better model has yet to prove itself true in the real world rather than just in the classroom.

So does it get rid of all those loop holes that Trump used to pay zero taxes? Remember how he said he was a expert to close the loopholes because he got away with them?

No shiat.  These guys were obviously going to cut taxes for the rich at the expense of everyone else.  Anyone who believed otherwise is a fool.

And those tax cuts for the rich will be paid for by cuts in medical care for all Americans. Life expectancy isn't always what you expect.

It is going to get ride of the AMT, which is almost the only reason Trump paid any tax. So that would be a, "He'll no, it doesn't!"

I lived in Holland, MI (where that house is located on Lakeshore drive) for several years.  I remember when they were building that wreck.  It's even uglier and more gaudy in person, especially because the whole guest house isn't even IN that photo.  There are some truly elegant historical houses along that stretch of lake, and that monstrosity just sticks out in an awful way, and takes up about 3-4x the amount of lake frontage as all its neighbors.  It's a scar in an otherwise really nice area.

South Shore drive, not Lakeshore.  Got them confused.  Otherwise my point stands.

What's funny about all this is that despite all the cries about socialism from the right, we've somehow managed to replicate its major downsides while avoiding all its benefits.

See, the problem with socialism is that when the government nationalizes production of a major resource - for example oil - and creates its own revenue from that, it no longer needs tax revenue, and ceases to manage the economy in a way that maximizes tax returns.

The private sector inevitably atrophies due to poor regulation, but the government doesn't care.  It doesn't need the private sector as long as there is demand for its national product.  Until suddenly there isn't, and the government ceases to function, and the economy with it.

Here in America, our government has found that it doesn't need tax revenue as long as there is demand for our largest national product... treasury bills.  That will work great, right up to when it doesn't.  And then things will go very badly indeed.

You're half right - the other half is when other countries decide they don't want to use the US dollar as the global reserve currency. When we have to trade actual wealth for oil instead of just issuing more currency things will get really ugly really fast. That's one of the biggest advantages of soft power, and trump is throwing it away as fast as he can. Once it's gone, it's gone.

Trump did not pledge not to cut taxes on the rich.
The US Corporate Income Tax is the highest in the world and cutting it nearly in half will create jobs.
I am not a foreclosure king.
There is no definition of robo-signing.
My wife and I pay for all of our personal travel expenses.
We want to eliminate the Federal Estate Tax because it makes it impossible for the children of average family farmers to inherit the family farm without taking out huge loans to pay the taxes, not because it will create a permanent aristocratic class.
I'm from the Trump Administration and I'm here to help the average American worker.
I'm not a smug douchebag working for a pathological liar,
The Earth is flat and the sun orbits it.

Every one of the foregoing statements is as believable as the last one.

From TFA:  "We're getting rid of lots of deductions," he said. "And yes, I can tell you, the current plan for many, many people, it will not reduce taxes on the high end."

My guess is that means rich people will be able to deduct poor people's tax payments from their own taxes...

/I should probably stop giving them ideas

Maybe Trump will make meth manufacturing tax deductible?

This is where I almost feel sorry for the poor rubes that bought it hook, line and sinker.
The only thing make makes this job worth it to Trump is knowing that he gets to carve out a weirdly specific loophole to ensure that his kids never have to pay taxes again.
All the luxury travel, the 4 or 5 hour days, the part where he has to monitor Fox to make sure they are praising him often enough.
And the tweeting, especially the tweeting.
All because he knows that if they want his signature they have to eliminate taxes on the scions of real estate moguls.
As long as that provision is in there, he'll sign anything and they know it.
