I find it interesting that there's a Congressional investigation, as well as a Special Counsel investigation. Congress is going to KEEP getting stuffed on their investigation until they start putting some juice on it, and especially while Mueller's investigation is going on, and Administration attorneys are desperately trying to bury and obfuscate as much as possible.

Congress just wants to be seen as doing something, as opposed to something useful...

Mueller's investigation is about finding and punishing those guilty of crimes that have already been committed, or are continuing to be committed.  Congress is supposed to be figuring out how to stop what happened last time from happening again.  But since what happened last time resulted in Republicans controlling house, senate, and presidency, the Republicans running the committees appear not to give a fark.  They're going just fast enough to prevent getting called out for doing nothing, but there is zero evidence of urgency.

Alternatively, Congress could be trying to look at damage control, and seeing how far the rabbit hole goes....and whether the rabbit hole could lead to Congress.

"Dear Congress:

Thank  you for your very kind request for us to provide some documents that you need for your investigation.  We are working diligently to comply with your request, but we expect it may still take some time.  You see, we are very busy here with the President's #1 duty, to monitor all performances of the national anthem and the behavior of those listening to the anthem, to ensure that proper respect is being shown during that most patriotic of songs.  While your investigation is certainly important, we hope you understand that the President is carrying out his most sacred duty, and is just too busy to help you. Why's it matter? The republicans on this committee have made it clear they'll allow people to refuse to answer on the grounds of "Because I don't WANNA" in cases where executive privilege couldn't be used.

It's a pleasant thought. The preferred rendition would be created by Martin Scorsese after a duffel bag full of cocaine and the extended live version of "House of the Rising Sun."
