He's my congressman, he has no idea what his constituents want because he will only hold telephone town halls.  He hasn't become more accessible since he started running for governor either.  His Facebook page does show all the community events his staff took part in though.

The Republican Party is a suicide pact at this point. These people don't want to live anymore and they want to take as many people down with them as possible. It's that simple. They're the real life walking dead.

Renacci is my congressman.  We live in the same town.  He used to own the Chevy dealership where I used to buy my cars.  I never met the guy, but I know enough about him to know he is the epitome of the stereotype slime-ball politician.

2017-09-25 03:32:05 PM
When pushed again on whether he thought this was "the right thing to be doing," Renacci observed that the nation has been in danger from North Korea "for the last 6, 8, 10 years, as we've let this North Korea regime continue down the path."

In danger of what? Too much kimchi? Angry rants from a guy with a bad hair cut?

This Renacci seems the sort of fellow that would jump into a "women and children only" lifeboat of the sinking Titanic, grab a child and say "you wouldn't deny us our safety, would you?"

People, a lot of times what they say is, 'He's saying what I think.'"

Look, I don't always want a president that says what I think. Otherwise, I'd run for president. I want a president who is skilled enough to avoid nuclear war while still reminding the world that the US is a strong nation. That's called "diplomacy", not politics, BTW. I want a president who doesn't get in the internet slap fights that I do. I want a president who can handle the criticism that's inevitable in a country of 320 million, and where the freedom to speak out is a cherished and protected right.

Instead, I get a foul mouthed child who engages in the silliest Twitter fights any adult has ever seen, is pushing us straight to the brink of nuclear war, and who can't handle the slightest insult to his non existent credibility or masculinity.

Thanks, you worthless Deplorables. Hillary had it right, she just didn't include enough of you in the equation. It should have been 100%, not "half".

2017-09-25 05:08:47 PM
As a basic principle, I'm OK with this.  I approve of politicians who place the desires of their constituents above their own.  That is, after all, their job.

However, they very rarely actually do so.  More often, I see them hiding behind un-provable claims regarding what their constituents want to justify self-serving and unpopular actions that the politician wants to take.

I very much doubt his constituents actually want nuclear war.  Moreover, I dislike how he thinks only Republicans are his constituents.  That's not how this shiat is supposed to work.

how about everyone who's just hungry for a nuke to drop be moved to an outlying spot in NV.  Give them nice homes and let them get comfy for a few months....then drop one on them.     You can include your warmongering congress-critters, senators, trump and kim jong un  as well.    We'd be a better place afterwards.

North Korea made eight years of nuclear progress in eight months of Trump running his mouth.  It's clear now that they had their progress during Obama's tenure and are directly reacting to Trump's bellicose nature.

Remember, if the bombs fly, the Russia investigation stops.  Any nuclear attack on the United States will benefit Trump because even if that nuke arrives in a suitcase, Donald Trump will know that it is coming.

Marcia Fudge is great!  Move to OH-11.  One side effect of gerrymandering is the creation of solid blue districts.

FTA :Renacci, who is not seeking re-election to Congress in 2018 because he is running for governor, complained that the "career politicians" in Congress "continue to drive policy based on elections not future generations."

Future generations? You're criticizing your peers because they don't concern themselves with the next generation? But you're OK nuking a country because they call you names. Christ, what an asshole.

I don't know where this notion that a President should "think like me" came from.  Used to be, a President was held to some higher standard.  I know I want a President smarter, and more eloquent, than myself.  Doesn't everybody?  This is further compounded by the prevailing idea that a Presidential candidate is supposed to do something for you.  A fine GOP idea... but what is with the current crop of so-called independents?  Hillary wasn't offering enough to win your vote eh?  Stay home, or vote 3rd party??  Y'all know that better than half of being a grownup is realizing that everything can't be about you all the time right?  In many situations, you have to forget about you and make a decision based on what is closer to right for everybody.
