As long as they don't kill off my $30 TMobile prepaid plan, I could care less.

1000 times this.

I was with a consulting company that was bought by Sprint. Within three years after the purchase, they took a company that was doubling in size and revenue for the prior seven years, destroyed it, and laid all of us off.

My only co-project with Sprint network engineers was a comedy of missteps, mistakes, and outright lies on the Sprint engineers' part.

Their customer support even to people working for Sprint, was Comcast levels of awful.

The only way I could support this merger is for T-Mobile to:

1. gain the customer base
2. gain the network spectrum
3. terminate every last Sprint employee

Seriously there may be a good Sprint employee somewhere, but in the three years I worked there I never met one technically competent individual.

When we were all terminated (1100 of us, by conference call), one person asked Sprint if the best of us would be folded back into Sprint corporate.

The answer was a simple no without any explanation.

The only way I could see staying with a merged company as a service provider is if the merged company increased my coverage area without decreasing my plan and without increasing its cost.

I doubt that's going to happen.

As little as 5 days if you are lucky enough to hit a stretch of good weather where you can get 23 hours of daylight and temps above 60.

Can take a lot longer if its cloudy or you have to tarp up cause of rain.

If anything this makes the market more competitive by having 3 equally matched players vs 2 real carriers and 2 sideshow companies.

Ditto. I had Sprint and they were farking awful. I paid an ETF just to get away from them. Slower than dial-up data speeds, calls dropping for no reason, and shiatty coverage.

I ended up at a T-Mobile MVNO. HD quality calls, 4G LTE data speeds that are just about as quick as my cable modem, better coverage, and the ability to use Wifi Talk-and-Text where there is a Wifi hotspot.

Best thing for T-Mobile to do is take Sprint's spectrum licenses and customers, convert Sprint's CDMA network to GSM, and shiatcan Sprint corporate.

No, we got bought by Sprint. I worked for the company that got purchased. I obviously didn't exit in time. Many of my coworkers did.

In that, I was stupid and take full responsibility.

Working for Sprint was not a choice that I made - I did not apply to work at Sprint.

I have T-Mobile and the reception is terrible at LAX...you know, the spot on the entire West Coast where you'd think reception would be spotless everywhere. But when I witnessed--ten feet away--a celebrity lay out a paparazzo cold, I couldn't get the footage to TMZ. How is that even possible?

First, go on...
Second, I remember years ago when T-Mobile had somehow "blacked out" an entire local town from cell calls on their service (I can't assume it was intentional for how idiotic it was to do this). If you were in the neighboring town, or in the rural areas outside of town, you would have service, but unless you were in very specific and limited areas in this town, you'd not be able to call or text anyone. A relative and a close friend both had T-Mobile and had this issue (neither lived in the town with no service, but one often shopped/drove through the area, and the other would visit her parents when coming home from college)... it was not fixed for several years.

Seeing as how the T-mobile color is magenta, one would assume you would get red, meaning as a result of this deal, the resulting company will go under.

Read TFA. Looks like tmobile will hold majority share after merge. What this means is beyond me other than I hope my sprint plan becomes a tmobile plan.

/cant switch to another service, my legacy plan is too good.
