Shame, tears and mutual recrimination will follow the latter just as it would the former.

In case anyone wants to know why, it's because this isn't a new bill.  Technically, the Senate is just applying an amendment to HR 1628, which was the original House healthcare bill.  The problem is that a bill has a specific amount of time allotted for debate under reconciliation, and they've used literally all but 90 seconds of it with the dramatics that happened last time.  They have to use this bill because of the reconciliation process, and they can't (or possibly won't be allowed to) add more debate time.  The bill also has to be passed by the end of the day on September 30th.

If any of that fails, or if the parliamentarian states (like they probably will) that certain parts don't qualify under reconciliation, then they're back to a 60-vote filibuster threshold, which means it would be officially dead until Congress passed a new budgetary bill allowing for a new reconciliation bill.

Challenge accepted.

Pass it. . .if you want to watch this nation explode in civil unrest, which Trump and this authoritarian buddies would probably like.

No. It would not mean that it would be dead, it means that it cannot be passed with Republican support alone.  The Hastert Rule is nowhere to be found in the Constitution, despite what Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader O'Connell would have us believe.  None of this procedural farkery would be necessary if the GOP would allow consideration of a bill whose provisions would be in accord with what the majority of Americans want- no cuts to Medicare or Medicaid, essential health benefits coverage for everyone that is affordable including people with pre-existing conditions and older people not yet eligible for Medicare, policies that will lower the rise in drug prices, insurance premiums, and medical treatment with less money wasted on administrative red tape and overhead.

For the love of all that is holy, call the office of your senators.  1000-2000 calls on a topic can be the difference for a senator seriously on the fence, Weatherkiss not withstanding.

I sent messages to my senators, even though I doubt they have any shame. My only issue is I called the bill by the old name. Technically calling it the BCRA is probably right, just a revised one with an attachment to shuffle the money around to states the GOP likes more, but no guarantee they'll use it to help their base.

Knowing my governor, Ricketts would probably use it all to continue his crusade to bring the death penalty back. That would be the most delicious irony in the world, your state reps letting you die while using the money to help you to try and kill more people.

If my family and people I consider friends weren't affected by this, I'd probably find it more funny.

I disagree with the premise of the headline. I seriously doubt that the average Farker would last a full 90 seconds with Scarlett Johansson.

I had thought that the technology required to measure Planck time was impossible with current science. Those Republicans will surely go to any length to deprive taxpayers of health care.

It has to be a great bill if they didn't want the details released, nor do they want debate on it.
They'd let the public in on it, but you'd get your greasy, grubby fingerprints all over it.
It has to be pristine when it gets enshrined next to the Constitution and the Declaration of Independance.

I could give her a great 30 seconds (for me). For her, nothing but ragerts.

Tell us again how the Dems rammed the ACA through with 188 Republican amendments to the bill after 80 days of hearings and debates...

If it passes, there may not be enough leopards to eat all of the faces of the people that this bill will impact in a negative way.  And I'm sure none of this will impact the elections in 2018 and 2020 if we're still alive for them.

If someone figures out a way that I can stop this bill by giving copious amounts of oral sex to Ms. Johannssen let me know. Some of you may die, but that is a risk I'm willing to take.

I live in CA so at least I know Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein are going to do the right thing, and if and when it ever gets to the House, my rep Ted Lieu, one of D2S's most vocal critics, will definitely do the right thing.

Yesterday, I was a little depressed.  But I count my blessings today.  I could have senators and a rep who would actually vote for this, no matter how many times protestors show up in their wheelchairs.

/haz a sad again

In order to qualify for the budget reconciliation process, the GCHJ has to save at least as much money against the deficit as the House's American Health Care Act and save at least $1 billion per relevant committee.

If the parliamentarian rules that parts of the bill do not qualify, the people will need a rewrite.

No, your 10th Grade Politics & Government paper needs a rewrite.

Sorry, I am past the IDGAF point. Pass this, and let the hurt begin. I'm sorry for all my brothers out there, but until these idiots actually feel the pain, nothing is going to change. And I'm not sure it will then, but, stigginit and all that.

People like me will have to live without health insurance and people like my girlfriend, who has Lupus and an artificial heart valve as a result, will almost certainly go bankrupt, possibly die.

It totally sucks and I'm really sorry.

But the people in you state United and said that this is what they want. We tried and tried and tried, but the people of North Dakota said that they don't want your girlfriend to have insurance.

There's literally nothing further we can do to try and stop this.

My Senators, Rep and Governor are all Democrats, so not much I can do calling as I'm pretty damn sure they're already highly opposed to this farkery.

Sometimes I wish I was in a district where I could get on the phone and angrily express my disgust against this shiat, but then again I'm also glad the majority of my neighbors and district-mates aren't at least in tacit support of it.

Congratulations and thanks to all of you with at least one (R) senator who you're calling, mailing or emailing about this. We all owe you for your efforts.

Once you factor in the parliamentary procedures, I think 90 seconds is a reasonable estimate.

I guess I still don't understand how this works. In order to pass under/via reconciliation, it has to not add to the deficit, right? Since the CBO says they won't have the bill scored before the vote, how can they pass it via reconciliation? What happens if it gets passed and after the vote the CBO says it will add to the deficit?

The reason why Soryu and Hiryu are laughing. The artist's commentary:

"Ahahahaha! So small! The admiral's dick is way too tiny!"
The following day onwards, the admiral would walk to HQ to the giggles of shipgirls laughing at him.
