After watching ESPN's happy hour, I am convinced Clinton Yates is a farker in these threads, because he looks forward to the level of abomination these Thursday night games with glee.

Well, at least it gives players less rest and increases the chances of injury.

I saw that, too. And I agree with him. Thursday Night Football really ought to go away.

On the other hand, it is one more game I can watch, so it's not all bad.

Since there is no link to this yet, may I ask a NFL related question?

Aaron Hernandez was found to have advanced CTE. I can understand how that COULD have lead to him murdering Odin, and have multiple arrests since his Florida playing days.

But, there are also reports that he was a habitual Angeldust/PCP user.  Would have make the CTE worse?

Yep. I watch 7, 8 games a week at times

TNF should die

Its bad football and more dangerous for players

Thanks.  For the record, I'm not saying CTE is a horrible issue facing the NFL, I just don't see why everyone is crying over Hernandez having it, considering WHAT he did.

interested as I haven't seen any NFC West football outside of the Cards.  I'll be watching.

and stoked for MNF of course.

Because he was 27 years old and had toothpaste for brains. There's HOF 20-year players that never came close to his level of injury, much less so young

I won't say it didn't contribute because who the hell really knows, but this guy had a lot of other issues that went back to before he played in the NFL or even college.

Oh, I agree with ya.

It's just the youngest we've ever seen or heard of damage that extensive, so it's shaking up a LOT of folks.

Yea, he 'only' played like 3 years in the pros, and prolly had another 10+ in schools. But his brain was *shredded*.

This has the potential to get a LOT of moms to have their sons play baseball or lacrosse or something. I promise you the NFL is worrying about this

I hope you don't think I'm being insensitive.  It's just hard for me to feel bad for a murdering, drug abusing star.  If he didn't do those things, yes.  I would be more horrified than I am.

That being said:  The fact that we now have a 27 year old with the brain of a 89 year old is very disturbing.

I just got an email that every fan in attendance at Browns-Bengals gets a free ticket to Cedar Point. Pending parking, it might be worth it to buy a cheap stubhub just for the 2018 CP ticket (you have to actually go to the game to get it)

I'll watch just for lack of anything else to watch. Though I'll check in on the Cubs game too.

I don't even know who is on these teams other than Aaron Donald and Bryan Hoyer. That's pretty much it. I'm sure there's names I'll know but off the top of my head, I couldn't name another player without googling.

On Fark?

Yea, I think you're fine

I don't 'feel bad' for him. I feel bad for the people he hurt (and killed)

That he had such drastic trauma is bad for football, sure. I watch as much football as some journalists, I know ... but I'll also understand when the long term health effects drastically change things.

Frankly I don' think we should have tackle football programs in schools until the late teens at the earliest. Like, you can't have tackle football until you can drive yourself to practices age.

And this is from a guy that played tackle football in elementary school, FFS

I think it's more the 27 year old having stage 3 CTE, the same as a typical 60 year old man.

The Browns may be awful but they are always a special kind of awful that leads to entertaining football. Not good football, but entertaining.

Ya know, last year I'd have watched it cuz I can't believe how far the 49's have fallen.  Now?  As the NFL let my team move to LA, fark em.  I don't give a shiat.  I hope Dean Spanos gets a cancer that is pretty much incurable, takes 3-4 years to kill him, and is incredibly painful.

Kinda weird to treat my Sunday's just like I do for 3/4 of the year.

When the news informs people that good seats can be had for $18 a ticket, nobody is interested.  I feel bad for the fans there that expect the stadium wifi to work properly when there is not a sellout.

Less than 12 minutes until game time, and the stadium looks like...that.
