Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: Russia is everywhere in the right wing. Everywhere. Bravo, Russia. You saw the weakness and took them like a little biatch.

Certain breed of conservatives breed acceptance of authoritarian, theocratic and oligarchical power structures.

There were conservatives who saw that fascism was the only way to stop the rush of communism. Thus they supported the Axis powers until Pearl Harbor.

Its simple, once you realize there is no bottom for the GOP, anything is possible.

That is what is so frightening about Trump.
No one who voted for Trump has yet to give me a simple answer to the question;

"What would have made you not vote for Donald Trump?  There were at least 4 candidates on the ballot in every state (Except Oklahoma i believe).  Some had five or six candidates to chose from.

What could Donald Trump have done to convince you to look at another of these candidates?"

No one can give a simple straight forward answer to that question.   And that is terrifying.

And this is the truly scary part.
Hillary Clinton got ~ 7 million of fewer votes than Obama did in 2008.
Trump got about ~3 million more votes than McCain got in 2008.

That means democrats were more easily turned off by Hillary while Republicans were more energized by Trump.

That should scare the living hell out of everyone.

The template was largely the same.  All of these RWNJ sites were looking for anti-Obama material.  Russian propaganda was anti-American, and with Obama in charge they could tweak the focus and the derposphere ate it up.

I don't know why we pretend that this is a big mystery. Its not.

For the last three decades, the GOP has systematically conditioned thier base (via talk-radio, FOX "news", fw:fw:fw emails, etc) to hate its own government, the government's institutions & values, and reality in general.

The Russians noticed.

And when it came time to use propaganda against the US - the Russians had an easy target: Deplorables.

The deplorables share the same goal as a US enemy. The hate America (the real, what-it-stands-for America), they hate the government, and they hate reality.

Why should a foreign power waste military resources to defeat the US when they can simply prop up elements within the US that are more than willing to weaken the nation from within?

/Example: I'm pretty the Russians are thrilled every time the US economy goes in the tank due to voodoo economics.

7 million voters found Hillary to be nonenergizing at best with her message (as well as believed the race to be already won so didn't bother showing up to vote).

McCain had a weirdo as a running mate and a running narrative that he was at deaths door due to his age whereas Trump knew how to work a crowd.

Meh.  Drudge played to his audience. Never cared for him- nor any of the Fox cast and their opinion pieces on the radio.  They seemed to be highlighting the worst aspects of, and playing to the lowest elements of conservatism.

It's not just the right. It's perceived exploitable weakness across several societal fronts. The ignorance that accompanies high multi-generational standards of living and post-war complacencies have left us all ripe for the picking.

The right wing is like a dog barking into a mirror. They're barking, growling, and snarling because something they see as a threat is doing the exact same but it's all a projection. That's why you can't get a real answer to the question "what would it take for Donald Trump to lose your support" because they are fighting that dog in the mirror - an enemy that exists only in their minds.

Not true. Fox News is available in Canada on cable. There is no "Fox News Canada" because of legal restrictions concerning foreign ownership of news media.

So you're saying that practically every right wing media outlet, as well as each and every conservative voter and politician in the United States, is part of a fifth column acting in support of Russia? That... actually isn't that surprising. Maybe we should start calling the GOP the Russian American Federatsiya...
