they won't.  I'm starting to wonder if the GOP will look at all the evidence of trump's crimes, shrug and say 'meh' and just flat out ignore all of it.  they really do seem THAT stupid.

Now do whatever it takes to appear in 300,000,000 Facebook news feeds.

so what happens when the GOP looks at all the evidence, nods, and ignores it?  lets say the GOP decides 'party before country' and tells the rest of the nation to get stuffed, THEY won, and they ain't giving up political power ever again for any reason.  what happens next?  do we go right to civil war?  do we pretend the courts will fix the mess?  or does the federal government simply collapse and we all start fighting one another?

My thought is, what happens when evidence comes light that a large part of the Republican party knew and aided-and-abetted what amount to treason? Do we ask that they resign? Do we leave the matter to the voters that were dumb enough to vote them in in the first place? Does the military commit what amounts to a coup and arrest a large part of our government for committing treason and aiding the enemy?

I suspect midterms will be in full swing, with republicans expected to lose handedly. If anything, we will see more Russian collusion, but we'll be more vigilant this time. When it all shakes out and the republicans shrug, Dems take over and tell us they will do something.

What happens next is anyone's guess, but civil war may be even more likely under such circumstances.

But I try to be optimistic about everything, and thus I'm almost always wrong.

Morgan's voice is always great. However, who the fark edited that? The quick cuts to closeups/pullbacks were just jarring. For me, it was like they taped 1 line at a time and then just edited it all together. I don't know, it was just kind of weird and didn't know if anyone else felt that way or not.

I hope Mueller can tie the entire administration and the GOP leadership to laundering money through banks in NY. Then they can be prosecuted criminally and removed from office.

No Congressional intervention necessary.

I don't think so.  Trump's already admitted to obstruction of justice, and there's more than sufficient evidence to suggest even now that most of trump's inner circle have broken some fairly serious laws to get into the white house.  Mueller's team is being VERY complete in their efforts.  it is unlikely they will miss anything of importance.

meanwhile, we also KNOW that russia hacked into and influenced the 2016 election in trump's favor.  so there's that.

What I'm saying is when the convo gets to the "that will be the perfect time for an adversary to invade the US" it's time to step back,  People are losing their shiat about the folly of Trump attacking Best Korea and rightly so because of the damage that would be done with their limited arsenal. I think a counter attack from the US would cause a lot more problems.

Weaver95: Hillbilly Jim: Weaver95: Hillbilly Jim: You guys need to put the bong down.

so you're saying that the GOP will vote to impeach trump then?  lets hope so!  I mean...it kinda goes against everything they stand for but I suppose deep down they might still have a glimmer of honor.

What I'm saying is when the convo gets to the "that will be the perfect time for an adversary to invade the US" it's time to step back,  People are losing their shiat about the folly of Trump attacking Best Korea and rightly so because of the damage that would be done with their limited arsenal. I think a counter attack from the US would cause a lot more problems.

so you're just going to pretend Mueller's evidence gathering isn't happening?  that we already know trump has admitted to obstruction of justice?

I was only referring to the theoretical civil war and foreign invasion tangent you and the other farker were riffing on. I will however say you seem like a really decent dude that has a chicken little thing going on. The system is working. Mueller is working his investigation, the GOP lead senate made sure Trump couldn't pull and recess shenanigans, the senate seems to be taking their investigation seriously. Congress as a whole handicapped Trump in dealing with Russia directly. The checks and balances are holding, at least for now. I'm not worried about a dystopian America in the near future. I believe that the US is still mostly a decent place with a majority of decent people. Aside from any of that I still don't think our current situation is at 1968 levels of strife and we survived that.

Like it's going to matter.

Trump can shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and his cult of braindead lemmings will still think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

And the GOP won't turn on Trump because they know they would lose a core part of their base.

spamdog: Serious Post on Serious Thread: And by 'everyone' you mean you and your 53 Facebook friends? It may need to edit out its heavy handedness. But still pretty farking prescient.

I dunno I think I mean the millions Electoral College that got Trump elected, despite losing by 3 million votes.

American liberals conservatives taking smug Alex Jones' bogus manliness supplements lately.

FTFY, guy who truly lives up to his name.
