1) Quelle suprise that this is happening.
2) Wouldn't be surprised if some Trumpheads actually did that...because they're that dumb.

Given how many folks would shower televangelists with Social Security checks lest "God call them home" or some such, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Genuine question. How is it legal to use campaign funds to pay for a legal defense. There needs to be some kind of control over these things.

/yes yes I know. That would be a regulation and those are bad

It is decided on a case by case basis, but generally ok "if the legal expense would only have been because of the candidacy"

I'm more interested in the RNC funds.  Can Trump really whip out the party checkbook whenever he needs some cash?

This is probably the greatest grift ever executed in modern history.  They are pilfering so much, from so many angles, it is astounding.

Trump should be all right then.  He would have been off breaking entirely different laws in he hadn't been a candidate.

This does make you wonder about the rumors that the RNC and GOP were taking Russian donations and funneling it through the PACs.

I forget who had posted the rumor on twitter, but there was a rumor awhile back that McConnell and Ryan were caught on tape talking about Russian money being laundered through the party.

I have a feeling that it was a Mensch tweet....

I've got no doubt the GOP leaders approved this. Plenty of guys high up in the GOP need this stopped before it gets to them.

Anyway, a good chunk of the money is from the Russians, so it's fair to spend it on defending against the Russia probe.

I got no doubt the donators have zero probs with this. They stuck with shiatstain this far, so they gonna go the whole way for him.

I'm pretty sure I could go on the FoxNews FB post right now and watch people saying something similar to that.

If FoxNews posted the story at all, which they probably didn't.

Bill And Hillary Clinton set up separate financial product for anyone to donate to their legal costs during all the politically driven investigations they got hit with during Bill's presidency.

Apparently Trump likes to steal money from his campaign donations.

If they don't care that Trump cheated to win they won't care that they enabled it with their money. Winning at all costs is the only thing that matters to these people anymore.

Not quite... on tape, yes...

"There's two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump," House Majority leader McCarthy (R-Calif.) said.

Before the conversation, McCarthy and Ryan had emerged from separate talks at the Capitol with Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman, who had described a Kremlin tactic of financing populist politicians to undercut Eastern European democratic institutions.

News had just broken the day before in The Washington Post that Russian government hackers had penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee, prompting McCarthy to shift the conversation from Russian meddling in Europe to events closer to home.

Some of the lawmakers laughed at McCarthy's comment. Then McCarthy quickly added: "Swear to God."
Ryan instructed his Republican lieutenants to keep the conversation private, saying: "No leaks. ... This is how we know we're a real family here."

The remarks remained secret for nearly a year.

The RNC funds could really cause trouble for virtually any elected GOP official. The Russians. Oops.

Is this considered news?  I thought this was discussed several times before.  It is the financial point of his rallies and online sales now.

Is there some part of this that is new?

And? I didn't donate. The rubes continue to donate thinking they're saving their God Emperor. It's less money that can be used towards attack ads in the future.

Trump is independently wealthy and that would make him a good leader because he wouldn't stoop to take a bribe.  Because he doesn't need the money.  This, this case here, well... just a cost of doing business.  I'm sure this has nothing to do with Trump's own decisions.  Unavoidable, really, and a responsible use of resources.

I am sure the donors are A-okay with all of this.  After all, what could be more important than defending the man who they voted for to get things done in Washington, drain the swamp, pelt Crooked Hillary with golf balls, etc.  Besides, there isn't a hell of a lot they can do about it anyhow.

2017-09-19 06:52:33 PM
Done in 1. Came to say the same thing but not as funny.

Truthfully, if they know this, they'll probably send him more money.  They're incredibly dense like that.  By 'they' I mean Right Wing Retards.

Go look up what Putin does on a daily basis.  This is small time.  It is pretty impressive in grabbing up so many little piles of money it makes me wonder if it is all a distraction for the big heist.
/don't underestimate the sum of many little piles of money
//that's how casinos rake it in
///of course, considering who couldn't make a profit that way, I wouldn't be surprised by big grifting losses here.

Well someone post to /r/The_Donald and suggest that they send cash in unmarked bills to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington D.C.  and let's see what happens.

I think that might actually be pretty spot on. When I went to the Maryland MVA a couple of weeks ago (Carroll Co., MD, very red county), there were some gentlemen outside the door with a booth featuring signs including, "Help stop the FBI coup against Trump" and "Russia is a Democratic hoax." As I was exiting, one of the men tried to get my attention with a cheery, "Hello!" and I shut that down with a firm "Nooooope!"

"Nah, Billy Jo go get Sally Jo's dowry fer president Trump,  he can trade that goat and them there hens for a law man" is the phrase you seek
