I can't believe they got a warrant and only took pictures of his SUITS!

Wait...hold on, I'm getting an update...

It appears they took a great many pictures of a great many things. Why is this a new story? I'm guessing they went through his lair like a thorough colonoscopy.

Maybe they have surveillance photographs of him and don't want him to be able to pull an OJ-like "I wouldn't be caught dead in those ugly-ass shoes".

It's a good thing for Trump that he barely knew this guy.

2017-09-19 10:00:17 PM
Of course they took pictures of the suits, Trump has a vested interest in Manafort's continued silence.

MSNBC did a bit on this, from what I gathered it has something to do with documenting if he could actually afford all that shiat, which he probably could but you never know...

2017-09-19 10:01:29 PM
I think they were taking pictures of the skeletons in the closet and the suits just got in the way.

2017-09-19 10:01:58 PM
Either you photograph things or you take them. I don't get why this is an issue.

2017-09-19 10:02:04 PM
What everyone else said.

Also, if he received suits as a gift from a kleptocrat or as a bribe, that would be very relevang.

Yeah, like I'm going to be seated in this $3,000 suit! COME ON!
Yeah, the guy defendant in the $4,000 suit is attending a meeting with the adoption lawyer who doesn't make that in four months. COME ON!
Yeah, like I'm going to destroy documents before dawn in these $5,000 suit pajamas! COME ON!

its called tried to imply that all that Mueller did there was photograph the suits and didn't do anything else.

They were just trying to evaluate the value of said suits in case they decide to go the civil asset forfeiture route. Apparently a designer suit is worth quite an epic Fire Island beej, NTTIAWWT.

2017-09-19 10:18:18 PM
That's some due diligence right there.

"How can you tell that's a picture of Mr. Manafort and not an actor?"
"Well Mr. Manafort had the same damn suit in his closet so...."

Who is doing that? I see TFA using the suit thing to get some clicks, but not a soul in the world claiming the FBI showed up at his house for a god-damned fashion show.

Plus most people tend to be home at dawn

They had a no-knock warrant, and instead of kicking the door in, they went ninja.

Manafort probably wet the bed when he woke up and found his bedroom filled with balaclava'd FBI agents.

In other words, they were so concerned he would destroy evidence the second he heard them kick down the door that they had to stealth it.

What kind of setup did he have, something like the Death Note in the drawer elaborate trap?

Yes he was home, but why would an agent leak that the lock was deftly picked? Was this detail in an official report of the raid? Maybe he had a really expensive door and they didn't want to buy a replacement. Not that they have to.

This is the likely scenario..They have pics or him..And they are going to corroborate it, down to the freaking shoe laces, that it's him. This is clearly not an "I am just farking around playing politics" kind of investigation..These guys have some serious crap and they aren't going to let him lawyer weasel his way out of it with a lot of  verbiage and legal antics.

I bet there are pics of him going in and out of an embassy or some other foreign government agency
office that the FBI or CIA had their eyes on. Something that they can use in public trial space, not
part of some other project or something they have to hide. But I bet they have him on tape with
foreign agents too, cause that's totes legit for the NSA to tape, but they might not want to reveal who they are monitoring in a public setting.

I'll admit that all suits kind of look the same to me, because I don't have to wear them.

I suffer from Suit Blindness. For only a dollar a day, you can help....

Because it's a ruse. It's a lie. They knocked, Manafort let them in.

Do you know why? Because he's flipping, and doesn't have a choice. If you want to save face cooperating with the cops, you tell your friends they picked the lock, threw shiat around, and beat my face.

Duh

I like the bit about the hats, especially the bit where he just keeps hats that don't work on him. Also the bit where the hat boxes are neatly labeled. Not strictly relevant to the case in any way, of course, but amusing, which is presumably why it's in the article.

They picked his farking lock. If it were me, a working class poor ass bastard, they would just break my door down with a battering ram and leave my house wide open.

If you are filthy rich and trying to take over the world you get a locksmith, if you're dumb poor and selling coke to eat you get the battering ram. Welcome to America.

Cell phone.

I'm guessing that they had some pretty damning texts already, and wanted his phone for its texting history from the period that they didn't have a warrant.

That would explain the no-knock.  If Manafort were in the bedroom and they knocked at the front door, he could have time to start a wipe.

When I wanted to hide some stuff in my house, i put it in a box under some sweaters. Labeled WINTER SWEATERS. i bet there was something good in the hat box.

"Hats I Can't Take Off" seems a lot less silly when you remember the phrase "wearing a lot of hats."  It struck me the first time I read that article quote that it was a box of information on jobs he can't back out of.

In this context, "Hats I can't pull off" means hats that don't look good on him.
