The regulatory requirements for all 50 states for them to get into that racquet is so high I doubt they ever will.

Course, they could just go through route of a company laying pipeline here in Ohio and claim that since they're a national company, they don't have to follow state laws and regulations.

Does anyone know the particular stores included or removed.  Just wondering if the local one next to a Walgreens and CVS is going under.  I assume it is as the Walgreens is much newer that the old Rite Aid.  I just hope Walgreens has the decent sense to keep the Thrifty Ice Cream.

When Duane Reade was bought out, they maintained their name and just added something like "powered by Walgreens". Walgreens then integrated a lot of the "DR Delish" items into their aisles as "Good and Delish". The Rite Aid deal is different, as they're not buying every location and taking over the company. I'm not sure if the rest will be a tiny, piddly Rite Aid chain with the purchased locations becoming WAGs, or what. I'd definitely like to see some different items come through the store, but I'm not sure if they're acquiring just the locations, or some of the intellectual property as well.

Fun fact: one good thing did (temporarily) come from Trump's being on TV: Maple Macadamia ice cream from the Apprentice. When WAG could no longer sell it with the Apprentice label, it was marked down severely. When it was permanently discontinued I bought eight pints of it at another severe markdown (around $1/pint).

Also, FTFA: The deal should not have a significant impact on Walgreens' adjusted earnings for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2018, the company added, and it expects annual synergies from the new transaction of more than $300 million.
