Why does the NRA hate the Ten Commandments?

Just a non-partisan group of like-minded sporting enthusiasts.

Now I was assured on this here site that the NRA was about gun rights only.  Huh.

I was at a Christian charity thrift store on Saturday, when I happened across an NRA lapel pin.  The guy behind the counter looks up at me and says "You know what NRA stands for?  Not Really American"  And this was coming from a guy who ends every conversation with "Have a blessed day"

They lost the right to claim that in 2012 when they endorsed a candidate who had restricted gun rights over a candidate who had expanded them.

I work with avid NRA members who also end their sentences with "Have a blessed day."

So far, they're for Moore over Strange. I'll mention the NRA endorsement.

/Love stirring them up. :-)

Alabama...makes sense, after all, they are the National Rednecks Association.

Problem is they (the Republican Party and its willing supporter the NRA) have been stirring that pot of crazy for so long that the rational argument of "vote for Strange because Moore is a farking lunatic" just doesn't work with R voters.  They want the crazy.

Seriously, stop spending money on campaigns... take that money and sponsor Free Guns for Black Folks events.  This problem would go away overnight.

Can we expand that to just be minorities? Would love to see how they feel about potential illegal immigrants getting a free gun without a background check.. what? you worried he's illegal? Well you know what would solve that problem right?

The REALLY beautiful, if Terrifying thing is that my Travels in Free republic land have shown me that  even the most rabid of the "All Hail Lord Emperor trump" guys on the site are STILL gonna vote for Moore over strange even though Trump has given his endorsement to Strange and is campaigning for him.  See because they KNOW trump is just going through the motions to appease the GOP establishment, but they KNOW (Via Secret blink code, hand gesture or direct telepathic message apparently) that what Trump REALLY wants is for Moore to get elected, so they are going to do everything they can to make that happen.....to please Trump

I haven't really been paying much attention to this election, is there a democrat running as well and nobody cares because the state is so deeply red that the chances of winning are nil, or is this purely a run-off between two republican candidates (since it's a special election I wouldn't be surprised that there is some sort of state law that says the senator that will finish Sessions' term has to belong to the same political party).

Hunter S. Thompson, we need you.

June 26, 1965
San Francisco

National Rifle Association
1600 Rhode Island Ave.,
NW Washington 6, D.C.

Gentlemen: I let my NRA membership lapse when I went to South America two years or so ago, and now I'd like to renew it. Enclosed is my check for $5, which I assume is still the initiation fee. If not, please bill me for anything above $5.

Since I have no application form at hand, I'm not sure what benefits I'll get from this, but I assume I'll be put on a subscription list for the American Rifleman, and, beyond that, receive all other benefits of a regular member.

I would like to go on record here - since we seem to be coming to very peculiar times in this country - that my application for membership is in no way indicative of any political views on my part. Nobody has ever called me a Conservative and as a matter of fact I am a writer for the Liberal press, but I'm concerned about the possible passage of illogical firearms laws and I'm glad to hear you people have taken what strikes me as a reasonable position on this question.

That's why I'd like to re-activate my membership. I assure you that if the NRA's overall viewpoint ever seems unreasonable to me, I'll terminate my membership at once. In the meantime, count on me for any help you feel I can give.

Sincerely,
Hunter S. Thompson

Why would you willingly visit such places?  I'll pray for your soul.

Is this the same NRA that was funding political junkets to Russia of all places for some mysterious reason?

Sounds like they should rebrand as the IRA.  Those other guys aren't using it anymore anyway.

Politics and bedfellows.

blastoh: enry: Now I was assured on this here site that the NRA was about gun rights only.  Huh.

They lost the right to claim that in 2012 when they endorsed a candidate who had restricted gun rights over a candidate who had expanded them.

First of all that tiny expansion only took place because it was attached to the credit card reform bill.

And every time Obama made his opinions known on the matter, he showed that he wasn't pro-Second Amendment.  (He would have signed off on a ban on "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines if it had reached his desk...thankfully, it didn't.)

/And yes, Romney sucked on the issue.

Ocean_Pimp: The NRA won. You can use a legally purchased rifle to murder babies in their school and no one lifted a finger to stop it from happening again.

Theu should just disband now.  Work is finished. Projectile launching tubes are more important than the children of this nation.

So what's your solution?  Ban sales on firearms?

So even though he did expand gun rights in our reality universe, he would have taken them away if we lived in a fantasy universe, and that's what really matters.

I've actually met Moore. Not a lengthy conversation, just a quick minute.

I'll give him this: what you see is EXACTLY what you get. It's no act.

As for AL, they'll be getting EXACTLY what they want, too.

I realize that for everyone outside of AL this whole thing can look as far removed from modernity and 21st societal norms as a tribe of Amazonian hunter gatherers in a Nat Geo documentary, but this is actually how the system is supposed to work. Moore would be the closest thing to his constituency as they could ever hope to send to the Congress to represent them. It's actually patriotic, in a farked up, dangerous idiot with too much power kind of way.

How have you missed this election? Fark is totally obsessed by it.
But no, there is no viable Democrat this time.
