Man Feels Comfortable Condemning Award That Will Never Be Presented To Him.

Works just as well.

Perhaps conservatives should create their own version of the Emmys. They could go ahead and call it the Turners, and if anyone ever questions it they can always claim it's a tribute to Ted.

The same Tucker Carlson who says the Confederate flag is a symbol of rural America? I have never seen a man more openly contemptuous of his audience than that entitled trust fund brat, Tucker Carlson.

If I were the producer or the director or the audio guy or the photographer or any of the other people working this, I'd start messing with him. Emmys can be a big deal to those who bust their asses behind the scenes to make his ass look good.

I like how he talks about "the elite" using TV to turn "free thinkers into robots."

BECAUSE THAT'S NOT AT ALL WHAT FOX NEWS DOES.

Someday his head will explode from cognitive dissonance.  Maybe if it happens on his show, he'll win an Emmy.

The guy whose show is entirely about identity politics is pissed he didn't get an award.  They should come up with Participation Emmys just for Tucker.

I take Solace that Tucker Carlson is not, and ever will be, as popular as Glenn Beck or Bill o' Reilly.

Dude can't even measure up to the two bit demagogues who got fired from Fox News for being too crazy, and too rapey.

No, his head will not explode from cognitive dissonance. It's not like he believes any of the crap spilling out of his hole.

Republicans want to have Hollywood on their side so badly you can see the crushing defeat in their eyes as they pretend to hate them. They've tried and failed dozens of times to create a funny political show along the lines of the Daily Show/Colbert; and failed miserably. The conservative media army sits at home during the emmys pining away like ugly girls who wanted to go to the dance- but weren't asked. And if Hollywood ever offered them even the slightest interest, I have no doubt that every single AM radio douchebag Limbaugh clone would sit up and beg like a puppy.

I think George Clooney said it best:
"Steve Bannon is a failed farking screenwriter, and if you've ever read [his] screenplay, it's unbelievable,"
"Now, if he'd somehow managed miraculously to get that thing produced, he'd still be in Hollywood, still making movies and licking my ass to get me to do one of his stupid-ass screenplays," Clooney said.

C'mon, these guys have been complaining about bias while being the prime, number one example of bias for years. The only heads exploding at Fox News are from the exposed male genitalia, because Fox is a very unsafe place for a woman to work.

A shill for a party that is only popular with white males (src Pew) - with the Democrats sweeping every other race and gender - is lambasting the Democrats for identity politics?

Yeah, seems legit.  We should totally listen to him.

I keep thinking Spicey's reveal at the Emmy's was meant more for the GOP, and more specifically, Trump, to see. There is no way Trump is not fuming at that. Not only does it look like Spicer betrayed Trump in his eyes, but he even made nice with SNL, Colbert, and others? Hoo boy.

I'm sure Tucker will be happy to share with use some examples of fine art untouched by liberal politics so that we can contrast it with the degenerate pablum that is being excreted by the reprobates in Hollywood.

I'm sure If you brought up American Sniper right after that sentence, he would have gone on about how it got snubbed for an Oscar without a second thought in his head.

Also, obligatory remark about Fox News' work environment built on misogyny and sexual harassment, just so I can go three for three in this thread.

Yeah, the idea of acknowledging that people other than white men exist and deserve respect too really launches some people into a prepubescent rage. To this day, I'm still afraid to click on any video related to Ghostbusters on YouTube.

Gretchen Carlson was a champion at that. Seriously, like, in retrospect, I'd almost feel sorry for the woman if she didn't so flagrantly sell her principles and dignity.

I'll never forget that one time she angrily walked off set after Steve Doocey said something incredibly sexist. . . and to think that was happening at the same time Roger Ailes was flashing her his scrotum during closed door meetings? Also, is like to remind everyone that she was a remarkably intelligent woman with more formal education than all of her Fox and Friends co-hosts combined. . . and yet she spent years playing the dumb woman at the behest of her higher ups so as not to intimidate their male demographic. I honestly can't imagine being so lacking in self respect and values to put up with that for years, and only stop after they'd used you up and were about to throw you away.

The wHite nationalist agenda is the ultimate identity politics, and it's everything the trembling Fox viewers are afraid of from other "identities."

There are a lot of movies out there with themes that might be broadly considered "Conservative." War movies spring to mind, as do movies where there's a strong "Order vs. Chaos" vibe and disaster movies where the heroes disregard the wider human suffering around them to focus on their immediate family. I'm not entirely sure why conservatives don't try to claim more mainstream movies as teaching conservative ideals, (and I know they do weakly try to co-opt whatever movie is a hit at the time, frequently without success,) but I suspect that it's often because the people making the films usually emphasize the moral ambiguity rather than the "rightness" of the character's actions.

Who cares what a bunch of Hollyweird celebrities think?  I only want to hear the opinions of knowledgeable, informed minds like Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Tomi Lahren.  They know what's REALLY going on.

rewind2846: "Identity politics" = Why aren't us white men always the center of attention any more?

Why do they want to be the center of attention when they do lots of repugnant stuff? You think they would hide that behavior, maybe under some cover of white darkness..

The updated haul have Sunday's kudocast averaging 11.4 million viewers for the night, up incrementally from the 2016 show. That's good news after an overnight 8.2 rating among metered market households had it down another 2 percent from the previous year. That means that the final tally for the 2017 Emmys, hosted by Stephen Colbert on CBS, avoids the all-time low 11.3 million viewers that tuned in last year.

And the Cowboys/Broncos game ran into prime time.

That's unfair.

White nationalism is identity politics, and it's all about the needs of white-esque, heterosexualish, nominally Christian "men."

And if anyone would be able to recognize identity politics taking art and entertainment out back to give it a shallow burial, it's anyone who works for Fox News.
