I'm guessing it's because the secret service keeps records of his meetings, which could get a little embarrassing for the young lad.

It's hard to flee to a nonextradition country if you always have the SS following you around.

Well, the Trump Organization does business in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and I believe Kuwait that might need his attention soon, and for an indefinite period of time.  There might be business prospects that need exploring in Belarus (Russia might be too obvious)  Those overseas duties will probably take as long as it takes to see if a New York grand jury votes a true bill, or even longer.

...and we're done. It's amazing how much work the entire administration has gone through to avoid things like transcripts and logs. Meetings on family-owned private properties, multiple and separate residences, frequent "vacations," and so on.

It's almost as if they had something to hide.

2017-09-19 02:17:24 AM
The timing of this is extremely odd.  Kellyanne Conway also had her detail removed.
We know the USSS has been low on cash after chasing Trump to his properties almost every weekend so maybe this is also part budget FU to the guy blowing through their payroll.
The kid is stupid as fark though, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets arrested in a private jet on the tarmac with suitcases of cash or something even more hilarious.  This was probably the most interesting piece of news to drop today.
Conspiracy me thinks these guys are now officially fair targets for... whoever.

He's going to be sacrificed, so his father can live on in infamy., and direct attention away from the hands looting Fort Knox and the White House towels.

Some poor guy that came to the US illegally is going to be framed for it, and die in custody.

Half scoop was really just supposed to be an organ donor.

i'm guessing half scoop just figured out that those servants he's been pissing on for the past couple/few months have been taking notes of everything he's doing and passing them along to the prosecution.

gee.  sure hope Donny junior is ok with just the normal private troops his family employs.  I mean, sure would be a shame if those rent a cops weren't up to the task.  but i'm sure they are the best private mercs that money can buy.  Because when it comes to being a rich, entitled asshole you need the best protection you can get!

But knowing the Trump Organization's payment history to contractors, those mercs might be looking for a better payday.

I wake up every day half expecting to learn WWIII has started, or Trump's declared martial law and seized control via military coup.

I heard reports also that Creepyanne has denied SS protection . . . is that a confusion of this report, or have they both refused?  (does she even get protection?)

I don't know if the Secret Service passes along things without being asked, but I bet they are highly cooperative when an investigator asks.

Wasn't it George Burns who said he read the obituaries every day to see if he as in it, and if not, he got out of bed and went about his business?

That's me right now except it's WWIII.  Cause if WWIII is going on, I am gonna call out from work today.

Ok serious question here regarding the SS and other government functions (including investigations, and the like.)  Are the SS ever called in for testimony or deposition?  The Constitution obviously has no say in this matter.

But these guys HAVE to follow around the most important people in the nation for good reason (not even getting into people who have declined their protection here.)  I could see some clause out there somewhere (not saying I'd agree with it) that it is unfair for these guys to tell all to investigators- because unlike most Americans, these people essentially have cops looking at them almost 24/7.

I don't know, just curious.

Were the SS protectors of Bill Clinton involved in the Lewinsky scandal in any way?  Were they called to testify that they saw Bill with her at so-and-so time, etc.?

A thousand Secret Service agents had already hit their annual salary and overtime limits in August, according to USA Today, and more than $6.6 million in taxpayer money at the time had been spent on protecting Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida since he took office.

I am sure the way Trump pisses away money will be a major topic of discussion on FOX today.

Just because he won't see the agents doesn't mean they will be leaving him alone. But it does mean he can't fly around the world on the government's dime

I would be more inclined to think that there is a written or implied rule that secret service agents shouldn't be asked to provide info because that means the people they are protecting won't trust them and might try to ditch them, which makes it harder to actually protect them. But I don't know.

It's more likely that one of the generals on his staff is the one that seizes the country via military coup, which, while still bad, which still be an improvement because we are at such a low point in our democracy.

The Times reports it is unclear if Trump Jr.'s family, including his wife and five children, will continue to be protected.

So he declines SS protection for himself which is a win for him because he can have secret meetings AND Team Trump can claim we saved the tax payers money.
But when he travels with his wife and or kids He has SS protection, and if anyone complains about the cost the answer will be 'you don't want to protect women and children?'

Trump jr has made the selection

to not have secret service protection.

The presence of witnesses tends

to spoil his meetings with his Russian friends.

He'll want the protection back, no doubt

When the Russian mob tries to take him out...

Why would a member of a family with billions of dollars choose to take a job within the white house.  You acquire wealth to be comfortable, who needs that stress? Just because the patriarch of your family becomes President?

Unless your family doesn't have billions and the Daf running for President was a last ditch effort to save the family from financial ruin. If Dad goes down the entire empire goes down with him. Then of course I could understand signing up for the job.

The Secret Service isn't there to protect the stupid kid. They are there to protect our stability of government.

If North Korean agents kidnap the twerp, how does that affect our President's ability to pressure North Korea to stop its nuclear program?

Will Trump then remove himself from the presidency because -- as I recall from that recent Star Trek reboot -- his has become "emotionally compromised?"

I'm sure there is some sort of language about it in the agreement people sign to accept protection. If they get a subpoena and a judge refuses to quash it, I don't see how or why they wouldn't comply. But if a cop just calls and asks questions informally I would understand if they said 'no comment.'
