Paging impaler to the thread. We need our Snekretary fix!

Anybody who truly believes that this wasn't scripted to the syllable almost-certainly fell for the campaign promises of Spicey's most recent ex-boss.

Nice of Colbert to extend that olive branch after the months of derision. And when you look at it, it was a huge Trump troll by the Spiceweasel. They should have shown him lurking backstage behind some decorative hedges first, though.

Let's hope Snek's rebellious streak continues when it comes to testifying before Congress and the Mueller inquiry. That's the only way he can really redeem himself for his sins. Colbert's midnight confessions ain't gonna cut it.

To the contrary, I found Spicey to be the most likable person in the D2S regime. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, which is extremely unusual given everyone else seems like a brazen asshole.

I want to know as little as possible about these people.

But are you saying he was basically our Comical Ali?

Pretty much. A nice guy in an impossible situation. You kind of feel bad for him but... not really?

Fark Sean Spicer. Fark him in his lying, fascist ass. He has never apologized for lying to the American people and doesn't deserve anything but our derision. He's not a celebrity, he's a farking asshole.

And besides that, the word "crashes" would seem to imply something more spontaneous than would the usage of the words "performs a maddenenly uber-lame pre-written sketch at" within the greened headline.

Yep, he stood up in the name of Trump and lied to and demonized the press, he doesn't get to become Mr. Friendly cameo guy now, fark him.

No, he took the job, he didn't have to, fark him.

This was NOT, as the media would have you believe, an unscripted event. Nay, nay I say! This was planned. I swear to you on the bosom of Akivasha that this was all set up beforehand. Nor are the Emmy winners actually chosen by the presenter who opens the envelope. That too is planned, with the winners having been picked earlier and then their names written on the cards and placed in the envelopes. Even their dialogue is written on placards that they read on stage! This whole ceremony was a farce.

He can laugh at himself. This makes him infinitely more likable.

That sounds like the America I know.

There is a tallest little person out there somewhere too, doesn't mean it's remarkable.

Spicer lied and said farking Hitler never used chemical weapons. But he seems so down to earth tho...

Nice people do not voluntarily walk into the poisonous cloud that is the Trump administration.

Almost everyone has had that one job that they quickly had moral objections to keeping, but needed to continue to feed family, pay bills, have home, etc. until other opportunities surfaced.  The difference is what you do first: Quit or get fired.  The juxtaposition of his resignation with Scaramucci's announcement looks more like a cushioned firing.  I am sure Trump would not have let a day roll by without ensuring Spicey got replaced, but it just reeks of an internal mess, and I don't see Spicer doing the moral thing by quitting on live TV, which given the tension in the room he should have done. It would have made more sense, and I'd have respected him more as someone who got tired of the circus and lost it.

I only saw this as an opportunity for Colbert to sink his teeth further into the Trump admin marrow, and to have fun with Melissa McCarthy at her expense.  I don't get the impression she was amused.

Sean Spicer is nothing more than the punchline of a joke.  If his podium was motorized and he drove it off the edge of the stage, then it would have been funny.
