Perhaps I should consider myself fortunate that I can't, off the top of my head, think of where one would get a bucket full of horror-movie-strength acid on a whim.

Were they all named Heather?

/these ladies are fortunate this didn't happen back in the states, crazy lady probably could have killed them all with her easily obtained gun

Auto parts stores: Sulfuric acid for batteries. Home improvement stores: Hydrochloric acid (usually called by it's synonym "muriatic acid") for cleaning masonry prior to painting or coating it. Also some drain cleaners are acidic.

Well, except that most drain cleaners are bases, not acids, but from a practical standpoint, it doesn't matter.

Home Depot.

You forgot pool supply stores for "muriatic acid" as well, used to maintain water PH. I've got 1/2 a gallon in the garage that I use for rust removal and "sharpening files", believe it or not. Look it up...
Then there is the granular stuff I have for the hot tub; I'm not really sure if I can mix that stronger than the purchased liquid (35.5% pure, I just looked). Removing stains from metal calls for 10:1 dilution and even then just wiping it in, not soaking in it. Not for use in breakfast cereals kiddies!

And who the fark would consider spraying that on another person, much less in the face? Honestly, just shoot said assailant, they are not only cowardly but also most likely insane. It isn't even a killing tool, just to inflict suffering and scarring. Un-farking-believable what some people will do to others!

/like I said, just shoot them

Anybody that hasn't, should get some fuming acid and play with it. Of course, if you've had enough safety training to play with it, you probably already have. Dad showed us some cool stuff when we were kids.

Also, various stores where you can get concentrated acids & bases for maintaining the pH of swimming pools.

Police in France described the suspect as "disturbed" and said the attack was not thought at this point to be terror-related, according the university's statement.

I get the distinction they're making here, but I'm gonna go ahead and suggest that people who engage in acts of terrorism might also not be the most stable and well-adjusted individuals themselves...

Terrorists are people who know their actions are insane and choose to continue them anyway.

I think the distinction is pretty arbitrary; but I always understood it to be political.

If you murder people and eat their faces because the devil told you....you're crazy.
If you murder people and eat their faces because the devil told you and you want to face eating to be made legal....you're a terrorist.

This. The stuff at home depot/lowes is made not to maim the idiotic consumer.

However, the stuff you can get from Carolina Biological science supply...

The part where it said 'disturbed' and 'probably not terrorist related'.
I think you've been here long enough to recognize the code words by now.
I didn't read this article (quick skim), but the article I submitted also referenced an incident of a guy deliberately driving into a bus stop and hitting people that also 'wasn't terrorism related'.
Where was it recently where a bus driver drove into some block party/street festival killing-injuring I don't know how many, barely made the news cycle. Jamaica was it?
The joke of 'disturbed' vs 'terroristic' is an ongoing one. That's why I'm saying you've been here long enough to recognize it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Stalin more totalitarian than fascist? In fascism the corporations become more powerful, but in communism the means of production belong to the workers (in theory).

Si?
