MaudlinMutantMollusk: Got a feel for her personality yet?

She's pretty chill. We brought her home yesterday and he's just been hanging on the couch begging for belly rubs. We're pretty relieved that she's mellow. We love across from a pond where half the town walks their dogs. So far she hasn't shown much interest. Our biggest fear was that she'd bark at every dog that walked past.

Nigel was at the top of my list, but we ended up with a biatch, so it seemed a little inappropriate.

Pointy McCockpunch?

Name it 'and bite me'.  Should make for fun when you have to call her.

Our last two dogs were named from Dracula, "Lucy" the red husky and our rottie mix is "Wilhelmina" but we just call her 'Mina'.

Grate on the new pupper! She looks like a very good girl. And she kinda looks like a Suzy to me. Or Gertrude, I'll second Gertrude.

Give it a week or so, dogs suggest their own names...

I had a puppy that I named "Grace" after she plowed into the coffee table in her excitement to , well, nobody really ever knew why she came barreling into the living room that day.

My current dog, Maggie(Short for Magnet) had insane levels of separation anxiety her first week. She'd get up when the wife got ready for work and whine outside the bathroom door, so my wife put her in the bathroom when she showered, then the dog would sit outside the shower and cry, so my wife took a shower with the door partially open for a few days, then the dog would get agitated when my wife stepped too much under the water. That went away, but the dog still has to touch you when she's sleeping at night. You move, she moves, you move, she moves, until you have marched across the bed... So the name fits AND has a story behind it.

I'd just wait a week or so, call her Doggy McDogface in the meantime.

We discovered this morning that she must have lived in a one story house before.  She has no idea how to use the stairs :-)    Luckily, she's small enough to carry.     So glad we decided to get an adolescent instead of a puppy.  She's already house trained and seems very comfortable on the leash.

Chompers cuz its a great dog name.

Or Vinsklortho or Zuul, either of the names of the Demon Dogs from Ghostbusters.  Zuul was Sigourney Weaver, Vins was Moranis if gender matters in naming themes.  and Zuul is shorter/easier to say for commands and whatnot.
