He donated to the Harvey's burger chain?

Or did he just eat a burger with a knife and fork?

Either way, Harvey's make a burger a boo-tee-ful thang.

How sad is it that it is news that the President kept his word?  And that he is feted like a king for managing literally the least you can do to be considered a functioning human being?

2017-09-16 04:42:44 PM
Habitat for Humanity confirmed to The Hill the organization had received a check from the president and first lady Melania Trump.

Have they tried to cash it yet? Just sayin'.

2017-09-16 04:42:59 PM
Next will be the biatching about where the money went.

2017-09-16 04:45:11 PM
This isn't like before, he's got some money now. It's your money, but he's got it.

2017-09-16 04:47:51 PM
"The Associated Press also reported on Friday that nearly eight months after Trump was sworn into office, his inaugural committee still has not fulfilled a promise to donate leftover funds to charities.
The committee had raised an unprecedented $107 million for the inauguration."

So yay?

2017-09-16 05:14:43 PM
You're right. I didn't expect it. And that is really sad. I should not expect the president to be fundamentally dishonest.

2017-09-16 05:58:17 PM
And he didn't even use his foundation this time.

At least I don't see any indication he did.

2017-09-16 07:12:43 PM
Someone check with the organizations he "sent a check" to..

2017-09-16 07:13:23 PM
It bothers the piss out of me to see someone coopting minor threat lyrics for evil.

2017-09-16 07:14:03 PM
Also, didn't Trump solicit for funds for legal expenses? I'm wondering if he donated from that fund?

2017-09-16 07:15:05 PM

2017-09-16 07:15:48 PM
Ok so he donated. I can speculate that this was only because his aides pressured him that his failure to do so was harming his approval rating.

In any event, full speed ahead with the investigations. Fry that horrible toad.

2017-09-16 07:20:28 PM
So he gave some cash to a lot of organizations which are fundamentally and expressly opposed to non-Christians, non-heterosexuals, and in some cases non-white people.

Boy he's doing some great work in defeating the perception of him being a bigoted assclown.

2017-09-16 07:21:11 PM
He kept his word?

First time for everything, I guess.

2017-09-16 07:22:08 PM
Post dated checks?

2017-09-16 07:23:05 PM
So 1 kept promise out of how many he's not kept?

2017-09-16 07:24:37 PM
Only because he knew people were paying attention.

2017-09-16 07:25:19 PM
He could donate every penny he has and it still wouldn't be enough for him to earn anybody's respect.

2017-09-16 07:25:25 PM
In other news...

You, Mr President, are a giant turd. Buying $1 million worth of turd polish doesn't make you any less of a turd.

It's from Deutsche Bank. They donated a million rubles.

Option one: He's making money hand over fist through graft and billing the government for Secret Service lodgings at Mar-a-lago, and no longer cares about piddling small change because he has all the money he wants.

Option two: he keeps seeing Mueller's shadow hulking over everything he does, and wants to start getting some points in the positive column of the karma ledger as his conscience digs at him

Option three: he's actually a generous man and we all had him wrong this whole time.

shiat, none of those are even remotely plausible.

Exactly.  I wonder if he actually has that much in cash.

Shame he donated to the Red Cross though, ARC are noted as being one of the shiattiest charities to donate to in the event of a disaster.  Their Haiti response was absolutely pitiful.

(this isn't partisan, I'd be disappointed if anyone donated that much to the ARC for Harvey.  Total waste of money that could go to do some good if they gave it to anyone else)

/fark most Christian charities too
//any that discriminate or put any of the donations towards proselytizing anyway

So he flip flopped twice on this?  Didn't like a week or so ago sanders say he couldn't donate after all for some bullshiat reason or another?

2017-09-16 08:10:49 PM
I kept reading and expecting it to spill something horrid. He only donated 10 grand, or the money only went to charities tied to Christian groups and anti-abortion groups. But no, clownshoes Von trump did the thing. He said he would do the thing and he did the thing. This is a very rare thing. I feel as taken aback as if I was viewing something else I rarely might see. The northern lights or something. He did the thing. Sad that it's so shocking.

2017-09-16 08:19:29 PM
OK good. Now I can say I don't have Trump hater syndrome. Good on you President for donating the money and actually doing it.

\ feels a little dirty now

He's still an asshole.

2017-09-16 08:24:08 PM
Trump actually came up with the money?  Well, get ready to hear about it for the next 3 years or whatever remains of his shiatty administration.  Trump will whine about how the fake news media never gives him any credit.

2017-09-16 08:25:23 PM
Yeah, because this time people were actually paying attention after the fact.

My first thought.

How depressing that this gets a huge headline because for the first time in 50+ years TRUMP DID SOMETHING OH MY GOD HE ACTUALLY CAME THROUGH!!!

Trump: I'm going to donate a million to hurricane relief.

Fark: Yeah right Hitler. He'll never donate just like all the other times and further more and so on, DAE hate Drumpf?

Trump: donates

Fark: big deal, he stole that money, it doesn't count, how sad is it it's news when the president keeps a promise?

Also Fark: does not donate

Let's see, one is a guy known for not following through and or scamming

The other is a website collective

I mean I could start a GoFundMe for getting my house rebuilt, but then I don't feel comfortable asking internet friends and strangers for money
