And, he says, 95 percent of the human population is naturally resistant to leprosy and won't catch it no matter how long they're exposed.

I'm glad they bothered to include this detail. Your odds of contracting leprosy are virtually nil, especially in the developed world.

A tree has limbs.

How can you tell if you've gotten a letter from a leper?

There's a tongue stuck to the envelope.

Why did the leper go to the weapons dealer?

He wanted to buy some arms.

I'm not surprised. You can still get the black plague in certain parts of the US if you're not careful.

What did the leper say to the whore?
Keep the tip!

Anyway... I find it interesting that they are still uncertain of the method of transfer. I guess research has dropped off.

You are being quite kind with that assessment.

My ex-bf's dad had leprosy. Missing toes. Strange to see in this day and age, but he was Vietnamese born and raised and had contracted it there.

I, on the other hand, just saw the new version of Stephen King's It.I am:
a) excited that they included a sequence with Eddie and the leper.
b) bummed that they did not include dialogue in which the leper offers Eddie a blowjob, because that was some creepy shiat in the novel

I'm sure this makes me some kind of pervert, but not enough of a pervert to wish that the movie had included the underage gangbang.

What is especially frustrating about the new cases, Aerts says, is that the disease can be easily cured with freely available multidrug therapy when it is caught early.

For now....

I story I enjoyed from the Hellraiser comics. A man finds a Lament Configuration and shortly after contracts leprosy. He obsesses over The Boss to the detriment of his health. By the time he checks into a hospital he doesn't have fingers to solve the box with.

Shame on you Farkers who marked that as funny without marking it as smart, shame. Knowing that leprosy is found on the footpads of armadillos is smart.

How do feel about the part where the psycho masturbates the other psycho and offers to blow him being included?

Did I miss something? I'm pretty sure that, in the film, Psycho B fell down a bottomless pit instead of explicitly surviving as per the novel, and Psycho A was eaten by dead children instead of by the murderfridge of flying leeches.

IDK I haven't seen It(see what I did there) going for hipster cred(actually just bought a house moving and no money)
I read It all those years ago and the sex stuff kind of skeeved me out, I think only read a few pages after the gang bang, and never finished it.

It's a really odd set of numbers.  The article says 1 million new cases per year in 1990 (decreased dramatically now) but with 95% of the world not even susceptible, that means the contraction rate among people who are in the 5% must be extremely high and yet the article says it's hard to transmit and yet it does and they don't understand it.  It's weird.  In 2017 we don't have even a basic working knowledge of a scourge this common that has been around for all of recorded history?
