Usually kids tend to be left-leaning, politically, and grow more right/centrist as they deal with adultivity and mortgages, but judging by the comments those are all children supporting Trump, hating Clinton.

Has it moved out of the bounds of political spectrums? They probably are left wing if they sat down and analysed their opinions on matters independently, but when packaged into a ball of "democrat vs repub" they're too indoctrinated to see outside that.

We have a well-funded propaganda campaign in this country that promises paradise if government would just get out of the way. It seeps into everything,

Why should the Democrats appeal to them? They're not exactly a forward-looking bunch.

"We should do that honestly. It'd be hilarious."

The reasoning (if you can call it that) behind buying his book is what really gets me. Not because he's a smarter man or a better politician or because the book is better written. They want to his 2016 book to succeed because it would be funny. Like picking the ugly, nerdy girl to be prom queen because she's a reject and wouldn't get picked if it weren't because of a practical joke.

Congratulations. You played yourself.

Entirely predictable, imo. Their strategy fails miserably due to incompetence so they call into question the integrity of the system they were trying to dupe in the first place.

To your point, this is FTFA, ""She will take every penny she makes from it to buy more copies of her own book and artificially inflate her sales in an effort to make herself look more popular/relevant," one Reddit user commented."

Which while possible, logically it doesn't make sense to me. I mean, why, why would someone do this. To game the system? To what end? I don't think that she would really care if her book is number 1. In my opinion she's not like most authors who have a vested interest in this kind of thing. They're might be some extra residuals or bonus payment for number of days at that level, but I don't believe they would be substantial enough to make a difference to her. She's independently wealthy for the most part and doesn't need the money.

Or the other one about Amazon adjusting the algorithm to make it number one no matter what. Which would only cause Amazon to have to pay out more if there's is a bonus attached to it.

The paranoia is excessively strong with the Trump crowd, and republicans in general.

Anti-social assholes find other anti-social assholes on the internet.  They can fume together about how everyone else are the problem, not them.  It's a mixture of "We're the only ones who see the world for how it is", and a straight-up purile "I'll show them, I'll show all of them!"

"I saw a thread a while back about buying Great Again/Crippled America (Trump's book) the same day Hillary's book is released (September 12th), and try to get enough people to surpass her in book sales," the 4chan post read. "We should do that honestly. It'd be hilarious."

And it turns out that they were 100% correct...

Others suggested that Clinton, or her supporters, would purchase copies of her book en masse in order to artificially inflate sales.

Which is not at all like Trump supporters doing the same thing, and stated without the slightest hint of irony... Jesus, how do these farking people manage to successfully get out of bed in the mornings?

Sarah Palin Uses PAC to Buy Her Own Book

The idea is not new. If said politician isn't actually a sitting congressperson or running at the time, it doesn't matter to the FEC, anyway. But of course, any possibility that Hillary might profit from sales of her own book must be for nefarious reasons.

I am not challenging you, but was curious. Is there any proof that people get more conservative as they grow older?

The only proof I am given is studies that show older people are more conservative than younger people, but that does not mean that these older people were more left leaning when younger. I have, in fact, seen a lot more reports that America is moving left of center, and given that America is aging, you'd think if getting older makes you more centrist or conservative, we'd be moving a different way?

Again, just trying to improve my knowledge. All references are welcome.

A simple counterexample:  Consider the people who are actively opposing gay marriage now; did they used to support gay marriage when they were younger?  No?  Some things do actually change.

My mother was a full on hippy. I'm a bleeding heart lib and it's her influence. But these days she can be really quite predjudiced, although some of it is for effect.

Whwn people have kids they tend to go a bit more nuts on law and order, in my experience, as well.

I'd like to see a venn diagram of young trumpers, incels, and low academic achievers.  I get the freeing that a lot of young trumpers are, well, losers* lashing out at others for their own shortcomings.

Also keep in mind that due to the whole self esteem movement my generation has been told how special, wonderful intelligent and great they are since birth.  If you think those things are true but still find yourself in a shiatty job and with few prospects then clearly the problem is external. Someone must have robbed you of your opportunity. When someone feels that way and one politician is telling them that we need to do things that will take time to work and another is saying that everything is the fault of bad people and once we kick them out it will get better immediately well, even intelligent people make dumb emotional decisions sometimes.

*This is of course aside from the trolls who are just in for the lulz.
