FTFA---"I'm tired," said yet another employee, "of pretending this company is not full of shiat."

Espn has been a clusterfu*k for years.

2017-09-13 08:03:16 PM
And let's not get carried away with the hyperbole in that headline, subby. Olbermann is a pretentious, pompous, arrogant ass.

Your right-wing blog sucks.

Be nice if we knew who you were referring to.

Clay Travis is the Glenn Beck of sports.

/seriously, fark that guy.

2017-09-13 08:52:46 PM
How topical:

Hill said that Clay Travis - who in March ventured a theory about Disney CEO Bob Iger's political plans based on when Iger followed Hill on Twitter - is nothing like the writer she met during her newspaper days. "I feel like he's playing a character ..." she said. "It's almost like a wrestling heel." She added: "I would just like to know if he can generate any kind of traffic without ESPN's name in his mouth."

Wait, ESPN has a supposed leftwing point of view?  Good lord, who isn't persecuting these poor conservatives these days?

Clay Travis is a racist trollier version of Skip Bayless. Best to leave ignored

As far as declining viewership, I don't know if some people are like me, but I don't watch ESPN because a couple of dudes yelling at each other about quarterback stats is not entertaining.

Sounds like a crappy place to work. Serving in the military or working in various government agencies, you need to pretend to be a Republican. Takes the shine off there too.

They do know that Trump actually is a white supremacist, right?

While I don't disagree with her thoughts on trump, Jemele Hill is first chair in the dog whistle orchestra.
Every farking thing is racist to her.

2017-09-13 11:44:08 PM
Cohen criticized her employer publicly. Hill called Trump a racist. It isn't the same thing. Also, I doubt this tool was calling for NBC to fire Trump when he called Obama a racist.

FFS, some of us like our brain cells; stop exposing them to Clay Travis, Fark.

fark Clay Travis with a pine cone. He and Curt Schilling can start another right wing sports website dedicated to sucking up to Trump and spouting off random right wing talking points of the day.

5:3 odds they'll be the first to demand affirmative action for white players in the NBA while extolling the virtues of free market capitalism and how no one is entitled to a job.

Weird how no one is telling the white male republican to "stick to sports" 🤔

2017-09-14 12:05:17 AM

"But most inside ESPN kept the Cohn story quiet until yesterday, when Jemele Hill received no punishment for Tweeting Donald Trump was a "white supremacist," that Trump was only elected president because he was white and had the support of racists and that Trump's administration - the cabinet of which features a black man, an Indian woman, an Asian woman, and multiple Jewish people - was "largely...white supremacists.""

But Trump is a neo-Nazi and white supremacist sympathizer. Why should Jemele be fired for stating the obvious? Trump has still yet to sign the bipartisan Anti-White-Supremacist Resolution just recently passed.

And let's not get into how Trump did not want to see minorities on the casino floors of his properties if he was visiting, and that he discriminated against minorities when renting properties.

Oh? Last I heard they were still yelling at each other about the NBA off-season. I guess yelling about the NFL and college football is progress.

The Homer Tax: Weird how no one is telling the white male republican to "stick to sports" 🤔

That's because "keep politics out of sports" only applies to people's politics they don't like. When an athlete is spouting off right wing blather, they get all giddy and tittilated.

To be fair, I don't support athletes solely on their political stances alone, if a player sucks, he sucks.

2017-09-14 12:27:29 AM
Oh yeah, Mr. Travis, take the advice of some of Trump's biggest fans: fark your feelings and suck a dick.

Sometimes....no doubt.

But Keith Olbermann is also a superb analyst and commentator with an almost encyclopedia knowledge of sports - especially baseball and hockey.  I miss his sports insights.

I listened to Clay Travis a few times, he's horrible. His takes are terrible with a Fox News slant. There's a promo on Fox Sports Radio that he broke the news that ESPN was taking the asian guy named Robert Lee from announcing a game. Like.. so what.

I want to argue with the bolded part, but I can't.

And at the very minimum, the Nazi in chief has acted like a white supremacist and he should be called out for that.

I'm actually more disgusted by someone in government suggesting that she should be fired for exercising her freedom of speech in expressing that opinion.

ESPN has been bleeding subscribers for years now for these reasons: 1) The cord cutting. 2) Hitting you over the head with political viewpoints unneccessarily. I'm liberal but I'm not going to shove my views down your throat. 3) Having formulaic shows as well. This video by urinatingtree pretty much sums up my views on ESPN.

If ESPN wants to be consistent in the enforcement of it's policies or taken seriously about same, they should fire her.

shouldbe in their ideal target demographic, and they don't interest me at all.  How about shelling out the cash to show more highlights of different sports, and less morons yelling?

"There's clearly a double standard. If you say things the company agrees with, you don't get punished. If you say things the company disagrees with, you do get punished. Maybe even fired."

Well...duh. You didn't know this already? I mean, I believe that you largely shouldn't be punished for your actions on your own time, with some exceptions. But these are public people who are the face of their company, on and off the clock, and can negatively impact the company.

Yeah, this.  I don't mind Smith and Hill, but won't go out of my way to watch them.  Give me college football and PTI (only because you can tell they're actually friends off camera) and that's the extent of ESPN I want in my life.  The 30 for 30's haven't been as good since they booted Simmons.

No data backs this up. This talking point has been generated out of thin air by racist shiatflakes like Travis who think anything or anyone who is not on the extreme right is a commie pinko. They invented it so ESPN would do exactly what they did to Jemele.

ChrisDe: Simply, ESPN let Hill "slide" because she is right. They canned Curt Schilling because he was wrong. And an unethical idiot.

Yeah this is a really terrible false equivalency people are trying to make. It's not possible to equate "Donald Trump is a white supremacist" with Curt's "all muslims are terrorists" avalanche of shiatposts.

I instantly turn the radio off when ESPN starts talking about college anything (but especially football)
