The team that just did that was largely put together by the guy now running my team... only way I could be happier is if it was the Jays doing that. See ya'll next year!!

Meanwhile, the Dodgers beat a different AAA team (the Giants).  Darvish proves his worth with seven shutout innings (3 hits, no walks, 5 Ks), and Bellinger hits a triple and a homer into McCovey Cove.

But it was against the Tigers.
The team that wholesale sold off every player worth anything.
Beating the current Detroit team is like celebrating wins against the Lions in 2008. (Or any year for that matter)

/Yesterday's Detroit Free Press included an article that the Illich family is trying to sell the team to avoid inheritance tax, or the fact they just don't want the team.

I was not aware the Tigers were no longer a team in Major League Baseball.

They're going to be relegated at the end of the season.  The Toledo Mud Hens are going to take their spot.

Uhh no.  This team was largely built despite Shapiro.

You guys are boned.

We nearly had a parade when it was announced Shapiro was leaving and many of us literally celebrated at the bar.

The video of Shapiro coming into the Indians clubhouse during the ALCS was priceless.

Shapiro's great strengths are 1.) optimizing owner revenue and 2.) mediocrity.

Enjoy!

6 were against the Tigers, including the last 3.
Why can't people let Detroit fans relish in what they do best - Losing?

Felt bad when the A's went 20-0 because the angels went like 18-2 along with them and so they practically didn't gain anything in the standings. And then the angels won the World Series that year. I don't  feel bad about that. 😁

The sports teams in Detroit are generally good.  The only things Detroit is known for losing are jobs and population.

Can we discuss the Lions?
1 playoff win in 60 years - 5 less than Cleveland
0 Seasons without even a SuperBowl appearance - 48 more than Cleveland. Of course, if you count that the Browns became the Panthers - Lions suck even further.
And while the Red Wings had a good streak - they went back to being the 'Dead Wings'
The Pistons? Rebuilding - and starting from last place.
Now that the Tigers have sold off everyone, and are no where near even .500, tell me again which Detroit team is even close to being 'generally good'...

Browns became the Ravens. Panthers (along with the Jaguars) were a fresh expansion team.
