You'd think an MVP who's grown accustomed to triple-doubles in losing efforts for a last-place team in the sticks would be more careful signing a long-term agreement.

yeah, but this is a long term agreement with one of the (if not the single) biggest athletic shoe companies on the planet. even if he doesn't play for 10 more years, that's a hell of a lot of scratch. any player that signed a deal that long with team should be evaluated for psychological issues.

I guess the fact Barkley took 20 of the 21 threes, in a pickup game with Dan Majerle as a teammate, is not particularly surprising.

In the original NBA Jam, Majerle's 3 rating was actually pretty low. Barkley was probably better off taking them.

And for circumventing league rules, 'cause players aren't allowed to sign anything more than five years (owners were agreeing to too many long contracts and locked everyone out because they were paying too much to some guys).
