Sure, why not? Congress is a toothless worm when it comes to investigations.

That rule only applies when the witness is a Democrat or, worse, a traitor...I mean, a lib.

When it's a Patriot...I mean, a Republican, then it is understood that he is simply standing on his rights as an American and refusing to cooperate in a political witch hunt.

His actions are that of a man who has been cold busted and has cooperated with the FBI already.  I doubt he has full flipped on Trump and team, but he has at least cooperated.

Eventually, he's going to run into a subpoena that he can't dodge, say with law enforcement personnel, and from there, he's perfectly free to pipe up "The Fi'f!" all he wants. But I suspect that he'll flip before then.

Mobsters flip.  People who know damn well that if they mob ever finds them they're done for.  People who took a blood oath not to talk.  Think there's anyone out there willing to do hard time to protect Donald Trump?

I think it's going to leak very soon that the FBI has Trump's state and Federal income tax returns for the past decade or so, and it'll be revealed that Donnie's flat broke to the point that he's upside-down on loans to Russian entities, and has been laundering money to repay portions of that debt.

At that point, there's no one other than his rotten kids who will continue to support him.  And even then, if they (as it now appears to be heading) are implicated in those same activities, they'll flip and rat him out to save their own pathetic asses.

I don't think so.

It was recently discovered that Flynn lied (again) on his reapplication for a security clearance. Flynn didn't disclose a trip to the Middle East to broker a business deal between the Saudis, a Russian government agency, and at least 3 US companies. This was discovered by House Democrats, when Republicans refused to look into it and the Democrats wrote to 3 of the companies involved who confirmed the trip.

The Democrats have turned their information over to Mueller.

My understanding is that you can not refuse a Congressional subpoena.  You can, however, show up and take the Fifth to every question, including when asked what your name is.  It doesn't look like an actual formal subpoena has been issued in to Flynn, however.

Personally, I suspect that Trump's tax returns will show extremely shady, probably illegal non-Russiandeals.  Just a hunch, though.

hubiestubert: subpoena that he can't dodge

They haven't issued a subpoena for him to appear. That's why he can tell them to fark themselves; polite invitations don't carry the force of law. Congress absolutely compel him to appear, and lock his ass up if he doesn't. They will not do this, because they are milquetoast.

He admitted to firing Comey over the Russia investigation, and then tried to scare him into silence with some tweets about fake 'tapes'.  That's pretty solid evidence for both obstruction of justice, and possibly witness tampering.

Milquetoast means they are too scared.  They aren't scared.  The Republicans are just straight up not going to do it, because they see nothing wrong.  They aren't scared that Flynn colluded with foreign powers - they are ecstatic about it.

He can fire Comey and for any reason, the FBI director serves at the pleasure of the President, nothing illegal. The tapes were to make sure Comey doesn't embellish a story, smart move I would say. And Trump never said he "had the tapes" that tapes could exist....

Trump can fire Comey for no reason, but not an illegal reason. Obstruction is an illegal reason, EVEN IF the end of the investigation exonerates you of the original crime.

dantheman195: He can fire Comey and for any reason

No, Trump can't fire Comey for just any reason.  For instance, if he fired Comey to obstruct an investigation, that's illegal.  That's what we've been talking about for months.  Haven't you been paying attention?

2017-09-13 12:59:43 PM
Hold him and his son on Treason Charges and see how fast he changes his tune.  The Constitution provides singularly explicit procedures for dealing with a man of Flynn's disposition:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

Lock him up.  His recorded conversations with Kislyac are grounds to charge him with Treason and incarcerate both he and his son.  The Constitution takes Treason seriously, it literally recommends that family members be incarcerated without the benefit of habeas corpus until the matter is resolved.

lol

Now that is some serious dedication.

Isn't lying or omitting information on a security clearance form a crime?  Because Flynn "forgot" to his money from Russia.  Then he "forgot" his money from Turkey.  and now there's more news of travel about nuclear power with Russia and Saudi Arabia Flynn "forgot."

Also have the meeting in Trump Tower between Kushner, Trump's son, and campaign manager (Manafort) that they all "forgot" and which has already been publicly admitted to via Trump and his son, with Kushner and Manafort updating their disclosure forms this summer.
