It's getting to be close to time to start hiding people. Not quite yet but very soon.

Soon as the war starts they are trying to start so they can use "security" for a reason to deport.

Of course not.  A conspiracy is usually hidden.  We elected people who ran on an open platform of farking people over.

Yeah, I am. Because a congressman saw this injustice, stepped to the plate, and did the right thing. This is how America is supposed to be. There are still good people in this country regardless of who is president.

You see Trump's genius at work? She goes home, tells all her friends that her hubby got shot in 'merica and you have a bunch of people who no longer want to come to America.

What?  A large bag of money for me from the Thump All-White House?  Why thanks.  What do you mean, I gotta give it back?  Because of the white house joke?  Dang it.

/Trump and genius in the same sentence.  I feel so dirty.

She shouldn't stay here - there's racial persecution going on. Some better country should offer her asylum.

2017-09-13 11:39:29 AM
If someone yells "Get out of my country!"  shouldn't they give the person time to get out of their country before opening fire?  Seems like a common courtesy.

What if you're in Idaho and some Canuk wanders across the border.  Yell "Get out of my country" and fire two warning shots in the air.  The Canuk will thank you and ask for directions north.

If in Arizona and you see some minorities heading in to 'Merica, you yell "Get out of my country", fire two warning shots and run for covers as they are probably real bad hombres and they're equipped modern assault rifles thanks to Obama.

Her husband was the one sponsored. This happens any time the primary loses their status. Unless she gets married to a US citizen or gets sponsored by an employer, she's screwed unless Congress passes a special bill.

Another reason why the INA needs to be rewriten.

Or blank diary books for them to use.

Deportation can be an awful experience.
Especially if people have nothing to go back to.

History, however, says the more likely scenario is concentration internment camps.

True, in the same way you gotta give McCain kudos for stalling the ACA repeal despite years of Republican team backing, and DeVos for paying for one girls private education tutoring despite years of trying to defend public education.

Republicans picking pets is about on par with having "that one black friend". Good job, but you are still a piece of shiat, and if the cameras were not pointed at you, I could place Vegas bets on what you would do.

If we want to allow immigrants in, we need to streamline to processes used to make them citizens.  Because right now, it's a farking mess.  And there are only 2 reasons that it hasn't been cleared up:
1.  It's profitable and good for our economy to have a bunch of undocumented workers hanging around.  Don't deny it.
2.  Too many people in this country feel entitled by their having been born here.  There is THEIR country, dammit!  If you weren't born here you don't belong here.

All this talk about what to do about immigration and absolutely nothing has changed.  And now that we have Trump at the wheel, it's actually getting worse.

And if the man had been killed in a traffic accident and his story hadn't made the news?

Should we rely on Congress members stepping in and doing the right thing all the time?  Because I gotta tell you, the failure rate on that must be pretty high.

2017-09-13 02:58:17 PM
At this stage, and if things keep going like this, I question whether or not I would move to the US if I was an immigrant who had a chance to start a life in a better country.  I would probably opt for western coast Canada or even England (yes, they have their dumbasses that voted for Brexit, but it seems these last elections show they at least learned from their mistake).

If language wasn't an issue I might opt for Netherlands or maybe Sweden.  But it seems we've become too cruel and too selfish and too concerned with our own "freedom" to care about what is happening to our society as a whole.

Not going anywhere, I have established a life here, just saying if I was some young, educated professional from Mexico or East Timor looking to start a career in a modern country, the US would no longer be at the top of my list.
