(PennLive)   "A tailgate isn't a tailgate without beer" But really, shouldn't you also have a £\/(×%& actual tailgate, too? Not a hatch back, but a tail gate you can fold down? Or is a $400 pop up tent and a Webber the real deal? Glampers. Harumph   ( pennlive.com) divider line

Article failed to mention which beer goes best with covering up child abuse allegations.

/I'm going to assume it is Schaefer
//It's the one beer to have when you're having more than one

So are we talking about tailgating at a football game or camping? In any case, beer should be present at both without question.

I recognize some of those words and symbols, but not in that order.

Subby might be having a stroke.

To be a true tailgate purist you also have to shiat yourself because you're so drunk and earn an arrest record.

Glamping is where it's at. No sense in roughing it just because you're in the woods. Real food, cold beer, a full sized bed with actual sheets/quilts and a proper sound system.

I want to go glamping this weekend.

I've been to both Buffalo Bills games and Milwaukee Brewers games in Wisconsin and Az (Spring Training) and the tailgating before some games.
The only rules I've seen are that beer is there somewhere and it's a good time, had by all. Don't over think this, subs. Just go with it. Oh and don't mention the war. I think I did once, but I got away with it.

We used to tailgate at my son's college games out of my wife's Hyundai Accent. Not good enough for you?
Suck it!

Exactly. Whatever beer you like, drink it. Whatever food you like, eat it. Crack open a Schlitz and have egg mayonnaise, a prawn Goebbels, a Hermann Goering, and four Colditz salads.

You realize that Stanfurd were just the worst when you saw they only brought wine to their tailgates. One group even had real linen napkins and a table cloth.

I call that "staying home," myself. Except that I substitute tequila for the beer.

Uh, bring whatever party food and drink you like?  Is tailgating really that difficult?

LaSpada's Subs FTW

I'm pretty sure tailgating at Penn State means something entirely different.

Folks are saying eat / drink what you want, but I don't think that "dip" recipe sounds very good.

Hoagie Dip
Ingredients:
Large tomato (remove seeds/juice) - Dice it and then I use 3/4 of the tomato*
1/3 cup diced Vidalia onion
2 cups shredded iceburg lettuce
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons of dried oregano
2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup (heaping) of mayonnaise (I use olive oil mayonnaise)
5 slices of white American cheese, chopped in to small squares
5 slices of provolone cheese, chopped in to small squares
5 slices of fresh deli ham, chopped in to small squares
6 slices of genoa salami, chopped in to small squares
Loaf of Italian bread, cut in to chunks
Directions:
Mix the lettuce, onions, tomatoes, olive oil, and spices together. Add the mayonnaise to the mixture.* Add the meats and cheeses. Refrigerate for at least 60 minutes before serving, it needs a little time. Serve with the Italian loaf in bite sized pieces, approximately 2-inch cubes.

The craft beer is for me and close kin, that other shiat is for everyone else
/No way would I pay $8-12 a sixer for some asshole that shows up late or don't bring shiat to the party/tailgate

oh man what about the dude who brings that $12 6-pack, nothing else, and drinks 4 of them himself

It's a tailgate, not a farking cotillion (unless you are at the Grove) .  Coolers of cheap beer, several large bottles of whisky, rum, tequila, and vodka (plus mixers). Cooler full of ice. Chips, dips, fried chicken, wings, brats, Publix subs - stuff you can hold in one hand and hold your drink.

I'd say that RV with the game playing on the side on a 72" plasma HD with the eazy-up tent with the team logo, and matching Nike swoosh socks, shorts, sweat shirts and hats, all say you are a legit fan and had nothing to do with raping boys in the showers so you should feel no guilt at all. Just sit there in the folding LL Bean chairs and swig that handle of booze and knowing that you spent every penny on season passes, a Camping spot in the parking lot so you can drive home with a hang over the next day (With a raging BAC) and brag about how great it was makes you a hero to the university's economy since they can't be expected to make any money on tuition rate hikes or land grabs on the town's people. And who cares if they put out a cure for cancer at this school? Who cares if they figure out how to create peace in the middle east in the poli-sci wing? What is really important. What really matters. What really makes or breaks the entirety of life's quality is whether or not you got to see your favorite young boy in tight spandex jump on top of other young boys in tight spandex and slap each other on the ass for two hours. Because that is what makes life wonderful. Now pass those wings. I need something interesting to throw up later when I've had way too much tequila and 7 layer bean dip.

The key is to be drunk before the tailgate starts.

Only in America you can pull up to the middle of a giant asphalt expanse, no trees or nature in sight, throw down a mini-weber bbq and a cooler of cheap beer and just start partying.
