vesalius: Dodger: Something I don't get... Isn't China Communist? I thought under communism, nobody gets rich (except the corrupt of course...). How are there all these billionaires in China?My understanding is that China's goal, according to Deng Xiaoping, is to be a great nation, whether communist or capitalist.I think in the 80's, they started slowly making moves towards capitalism in certain areas of the country, like denationalizing some properties, and it kinda went from there. I guess it's more of a corporatist socialist state, if that makes sense. Is corporatist a word? Autocorrect says yes.Disclaimer: I know nothing.
