Or People Magazine which published questions asked about investigations in to Trump and Russia.

Fox news owns People Magazine now?

If Todd Starnes' brains were somehow transformed into C4, it wouldn't create an explosion large enough to blow his nose.

I think Miss America was last broadcast on primetime TV in the 80s.  Now you only hear of the damn thing if one of the dames in the bathing suits gets salty with the judges.  Stupid

I think they can't get naked, have a boyfriend or any other behavior umbecoming of the title of Miss America, so it has that going for it at least, which is lame.

Wasn't Trump banned from the Miss America pageants which is why he bought the Miss USA pageants so he'd have better access to models?

Todd Starnes is enjoyable is you pretend that he's a writer for Patriothole.

If they put them all into a bouncy castle in lycra shorts, covered in baby oil and armed with wiffle bats, it would be only slightly more ridiculous than what they have now and far more erotic.  Frankly, I think a woman is never sexier than when she is sporting a shiner she got from a sucker punch given by Miss North Carolina...

Writing for Fox News on Monday, Todd Starnes

And there's everything you need to know about Fox's article.

Don't you know it's an assault on Christian freedom of religion to expect women to be more than brainless bimbos?

Leave the pageant alone!  How else will rich Republicans be able to shop for their second wives?

"It was as if Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton were sitting underneath the Atlantic City boardwalk, sipping Chardonnay and writing this year's questions," [Starnes] wrote

Thought his fap material would be the contestants, not Clinton and Warren.

It came up on my trending FB topics. The depressing majority of people with way too much free time commentors ranted that this just showed how ugly Miss Texas was on the inside and how liberals were forcing the young ladies to denigrate our fair prednisent and such as, etc etc.

Miss America really shows how divided we've become. One side says the answers were disrespectful. The other side says Trump deserves disrespect. But the answers were not disrespectful. At all.

The answrs were far more respectful than the pre-presidency Trump was of President Obama. As a matter of fact, I can't find anything disrespectful in the way they disagreed. They did not attack his looks, birth, upbringing, or character. They stated their opinions and provided the reasons for those opinions. Certainly, no reasonable person thinks disagreement is, in itself, disrespectful, right?

This is my favorite thing they've done:  http://www.clickhole.com/article/nation-mourning-roger-ailes-americas-jolly-grandpa-6090

On this tragic day, May 18, 2017, the world awoke to terrible news. A great man, cherished by all, has been laid to rest far too soon: Roger Ailes, America's beloved jolly grandpa who was always pulling beloved goofs on ladies and gals alike, had been murdered by the deep state at the age of 77.

We are deeply saddened by his loss. Papa Trickster, we will miss you.

Roger Ailes, our country's joyful king of lighthearted, around-the-office pranks on women, was secretly assassinated by shadowy government figures in his sleep last night at his home in Palm Beach, FL. Ripped from this earth by a covert attack that came from inside our own government, America's rotund jester will be remembered around the world for his endless tricks and his rambunctious tickles, but most of all, his love for making his favorite lady employees laugh with his famous hijinks. Oh, how he loved it so!

I dated a pageant girl. It's a whole sub-culture that you don't hear about unless you participate. Miss America is like their Super Bowl.

He was afraid of being caught trying to buy "Hispanic cheese" because he couldn't find the "Caucasian cheese" aisle.

Been political for a long time. I remember being a kid and watching Miss America on TV in the 90s, the year there was a big debate about same-sex marriage in Hawaii. The judges asked Miss Hawaii what her thoughts on it were, and she giggle-squealed, "Well, I just think it's gross!"

Then that rotten biatch sang "God Help the Outcasts" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the talent portion.

Holy shiat, I have been carrying a burning-hot hatred of a former beauty queen for like twenty years.

2017-09-13 10:01:23 AM
Nope. . . not political at all. Nosiree bob. Nothing political in these questions:

Question: "Journalists are calling out Matt Lauer for aggressively grilling Hillary Clinton while letting Donald Trump slide. Others are declaring a liberal media bias. How would you grade the media on their election coverage?"

Question: "Donald J. Trump. What do you think of him? You have 20 seconds, go."

Question: "Hillary Rodham Clinton. What do you think?"

Question: "The immigration debate rages on: Building a wall along the Mexico border, establishing sanctuary cities, deporting 11 million undocumented people. Do you believe our country has an immigration problem?"

Question: "49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, has ignited a national debate by refusing to stand for the national anthem in protest of racial inequality and police brutality. Do you sit with him or stand against him?"

Question: "One hundred ninety-five countries signed the Paris agreement, in which each country sets nonbinding goals to reduce man-made climate change. The U.S. is withdrawing from the agreement, citing negligible environmental effects and negative economic impact. Good decision? Bad decision? Which is it and why?"

In a former job, SWMBO use to help pick out the outfits for the lower-level pageants that feed into Miss America, so she still likes to tune in and watch the big one to see how some of the people she still recognizes do- and hey, I don't complain about the scenery- so we actually saw the last hour or so of this year's.

The Daily Show had it pretty much spot on in their segment on it- Every. Single. One. of the contestants showed far more knowledge and preparation regarding politics and policy than Trump does to this day even though he's supposed to be the one *setting* the policies.

2017-09-13 10:13:43 AM
The show has gone so downhill. We used to have contestants who walked on glass. Now THAT was talent.

While I do think there was a lot of pearl-grasping by the right, I decided to take a look at the kinds of questions that were asked during the Obama years. From 2013:
"A recent report shows that in 40 percent of American families with children, women are the primary earners yet they continue to earn less than men. What does this say about society?"
"Government tracking of phone records has been in the news lately. Is this an invasion of privacy or necessary to keep our country safe? Why or why not?"
"Due to the problem of binge drinking on college campuses, a growing number of college presidents are encouraging lawmakers to lower the drinking age. Do you agree that this will promote responsible drinking? Why or why not?"
"Should people who leak classified documents in the name of public information be charged with treason? Why or why not?"
"Miss Connecticut, the Supreme Court ruled that criminal suspects can be subjected to a police DNA test after arrest. Do you agree or disagree with this, and why or why not?"
"In a recent beauty pageant bikinis were banned amid protests from religious groups. As someone who competed in a swimsuit tonight, do you believe such groups should have that influence? Why or why not?"

Nothing really too politically charged and nothing that directly went after Obama. I didn't do much more digging but I liked the Trump question and answer from 2015:

"According to a poll released this week, Donald Trump is leading Republican candidates by 32 percent of the vote.* [big applause] Why do you think he's leading by such an overwhelming margin?"

The answer: "I think Donald Trump is an entertainer. And I think he says what's on a lot of people's minds. [murmuring and applause] But I think that the Republican Party should be absolutely terrified of all the attention that he is taking [growing applause] from incredible candidates like Chris Christie and Jeb Bush who could absolutely do the job of president of the United States. If I were a Republican, I'd absolutely be terrified of that. "

Yes. There are no correspondents for the Daily Show saying how you need more qualifications to be Miss America than you do to be President...
