Quackenbush's father, Texas attorney Jesse Quackenbush, defended his daughter after her arrest by claiming that the homeless man was threatening to kill her shortly before she decided to get out of the car and fire her weapon at him.

"She didn't try and kill this guy," he said. "She had no intention of killing him. She didn't know that she hit him... She did say she closed her eyes when she shot both times, but they were warnings, and she thought she pointed away from him."

I ran out of gas! I--I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn't come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!!!

So she could've easily gotten into her car and left. Instead she got into her car, found her gun, exited the car, and shot the guy twice with her eyes closed.

The only reasonable needless attempted murder of a homeless man is my daughter's needless attempted murder of a homeless man.  She just made a mistake, she's not like one of those poors, blahs, or angry attempted murderers who deserve to get the book thrown at them.

Beat me to it.  No jury is going to fall for that reason.

Closed her eyes and shot, another responsible gun owner.

2017-09-12 02:52:16 PM
leaving him with a wounded abdomen

A wounded abdomen? Who says that?

How is it attempted murder if the dude died?

That's a solid last name she has there ...

i don't believe he died

Based on that mug shot I am guessing alcohol was a factor.

/not an excuse

You all are missing the point.

He was poor and looked at her car.

Where's her parade?

TAKE THAT, POOR!

based on that mug shot, I'd say that her personalities are at odds and fighting for supremacy.

Wow, her name is quackenbush. Crazy doesn't usually reveal itself so blatantly.

2017-09-12 04:14:50 PM
She's not attractive. Damn. But I see worse RBF than that on a daily basis.

Also, She did say she closed her eyes when she shot both times.Just another responsible gun owner. Nothing to see here.

2017-09-12 04:16:25 PM
Charge her with attempted murder.

2017-09-12 04:24:51 PM
I love the rationalization from her father, a Texas attorney.

"She didn't try and kill this guy," he said. "She had no intention of killing him. She didn't know that she hit him... She did say she closed her eyes when she shot both times, but they were warnings, and she thought she pointed away from him."

I mean, come on, who among us hasn't closed their eyes and fired "warning shots" at homeless people? Yeah, it hit the guy, and that sucks....I guess. But this is spilled milk, people. Every day occurrence.

Not me-- I keep my eyes open and aim carefully. They can be vicious when wounded. Like a woodchuck.

I'm gonna go ahead and hazard a guess that the closest this guy comes to practicing criminal law is the occasional erroneous entry on his clients' corporate tax returns.

There's plenty of times, PLENTY OF TIMES, where I have no intention of killing someone, so I close my eyes and point a loaded gun at them. In most cases, in...a....good percentage of cases, no one dies.

Nothing to see here.

2017-09-12 04:53:56 PM
If she aims with her right eye, she was better off keeping them closed.

2017-09-12 04:53:58 PM
Can we talk about the real crime here? The fact that Porsche makes a SUV?

2017-09-12 04:54:47 PM
Resting biatch face with some lazy eye thrown in there. Maybe the homeless guy looked at the wrong eye and that pissed her off.

2017-09-12 04:55:06 PM
C'mon.  We've all fantasized about murdering a homeless person in the dead of night... not a witness within sight as you are free to truly revel in the moment the luster fades from their dull dead eyes.  No one to hear the primal scream of triumph as you dance about naked in their viscera...
We've all been there.

2017-09-12 04:55:29 PM
That's some serious affluenza going on there.

2017-09-12 04:55:33 PM
One of her eyes has affluenza and I can understand that she didn't know which way she was pointing the gun.

2017-09-12 04:55:34 PM
I guess the question is why did she park her Porche somewhere near a homeless man's flop?

I'm betting it was less alcohol being a factor so much as needing to pick up her "medicine."

What better way to tell the world, "I in no way whatsoever deserve the money I have, and I'll do nothing but stupid shiat with it"?

I smell an Affluenza defense.

I think she can use the Zimmerman 'I started the conflict, I escalated the conflict, I could have avoided the conflict, but at some point, I was scared...so justifiable shooting' defense

2017-09-12 04:57:15 PM
"She didn't try and kill this guy," he said. "She had no intention of killing him."

Then she should have gotten back in her vehicle and driven away.

When I've no intention of killing someone I don't typically fetch my gun and shoot it at someone.

I'd guess prenatal alcohol was a factor.

The details of this are amazing: single mother with no job, driving a Porsche SUV, with a gun in the car in NY(permited?), and a lawyer for a father. She doesn't sound spoiled or entitled at all.

I thought that kind of thing only happened in Renp.

also happens in Reno

I was driving on i90 going a little over 80 when a porche cayenne passed me going well over 100 mph, my car shook from the air it was moving when it went by.
