On a related note, Godzilla has fought monsters created by human pollution before. We could have used him this last fortnight.

OK, so "outdoor dinosaur park" is the kind of thing I *HAD* to look for on Google Earth.

Looks like it might make for a fun afternoon, if you like dinosaurs.

I'm still waiting for the interactive dinosaur hunting experience, though, where you get to carry something like a gun that shoots blanks and laser light (like the old MILES gear) and you have to hit them in the right right spot in order to "kill" them, and if you don't, and they get close enough, you're "killed".

Tortoises who aren't carried away by a hurricane are more likely to survive.

Tortoises with a better glide ratio are more likely to survive.

Its Florida. No sense of class or refinement, even amongst the higher tax brackets.

I thought this was about Jacksonville before I rtfa.  We also have a beloved t-rex statue that miraculously survived the perilous winds (and has been the object of a lot of social media posts in the last twenty four hours).  He used to be part of an eighties era mini golf course here and when the place got demolished they saved and re-located the dino.  He's like a small section of Jacksonville's little Sebastian.

Oh man, you just totally made me homesick with that. I still  have a little party in my head when I drive by that thing, like I'm seven again for a millisecond.

They're the owners. But I will admit that the Tampa Bay Times didn't put much effort in that photo in order to make it look "real".

I understand the sentimental value, but *DAMN*, that has to be the worst T. rex representation I have ever seen.
