That's because he lost to political mastermind George Bush Jr, who benefitted from a first term unmarred by tragedy.

"I wish she'd just shut the f**k up and go away," as one former Clinton surrogate told The Hill before the book's release.

I don't remember John Kerry writing a book about blaming everybody else for losing the election while trying to divide the Democratic Party.

Do you?

Kerry didn't keep throwing punches after the race was over.
Well, I just totally reject that. As you probably would have expected me to say. I find this criticism from Sanders supporters to be so off base. He's not even a Democrat. That's not a slam on him. He says it himself. He didn't support Democrats. He's not supporting Democrats now. I know a lot of Democrats. I've been working on behalf of Democrats, to be elected, to be re-elected, for decades. And so yes, I was familiar to broad parts of the electorate, and I'm proud of that. And I did well across the country. I won by four million votes. That's a landslide. I won, really, by March and April. But he just kept going, and he and his followers' attacks on me kept getting more and more personal, despite him asking me not to attack him personally. And, you know, I really regret that. But now he's got a chance to prove that he's something other than a spoiler. And that is to help other Democrats. And I don't know if he will or not, but I'm hoping he will.

The same day Booker and Gillibrand come on board with his "Medicare for all" pitch.

Of course he likes NCIS. He's old and white, isn't he?

I meant about the election.

To be fair, he was re-elected as a senator after losing the presidential election in 2004, and was in office until he was appointed as Secretary of State in 2013.

Reading the reviews of this book, none of which are very flattering, has actually made me many times more sympathetic to Hillary. She ends up coming off as the flawed, often completely out of it person she is. Like "I didn't think talking to the banks would be so bad" - it shows how entirely unaware she was of what was happening to people outside of her bubble and how they felt. Which is a very, very human weakness.

It's amazing half the country was so afraid of her. She's not very scary. She would have been competent as president, and that would have been insanely better than what we got.

Yeah after losing to political mastermind George W Bush Kerry went on to serve in the US Senate for 8 years before leaving to take up the job of Secretary of State, and also wrote a book.

In other words the very definition of "going away."

So she was just incompetent then.  Gotcha.

30 years in politics, including 8 directly exposed to White House intrigue, and she's going to claim ignorance?  Bullshiat.

adamatari: She would have been competent as president, and that would have been insanely better than what we got.

She wouldn't have:
Inspired some of the largest protest marches in American history simply by virtue of being elected
Threatened to launch nukes at North Korea
Had her entire legislative agenda objectively fail
Given the FBI cause to investigate her before firing the FBI director essentially for doing so
Spent effectively the entire Secret Service budget on vacations at her own properties
Gotten into a handshake competition with the French president (and lost)
Withdrawn from important environment treaties

Basically we'd be Fine. Nothing special, just Fine.

Positive being the keyword in that first tweet.

If she went on a climate change crusade like Al Gore, more power to her. If she wrote a book about capitalism or foreign policy? Sure. That's good too. Or maybe about AIDS in Africa. Something positive.

Instead, she wrote a therapy book about losing her election. It's all about her, and it's mostly negative, divisive, and creates enemies. This is not "positive."

He wrote a book about the environment and environmentalists. That is exactly the same as writing a book about losing his election and making sure we blame everybody equally.

Meanwhile, she sounds the alarm on ALEC and their attempts at a constitutional convention--you know, things we should be worrying about--and you miserable farks are worried about your feelings getting hurt.

So...can we, you know, concentrate on that?
