MaudlinMutantMollusk: who?

Harvey. It was a big hurricane that was big until it was replaced by another hurricane in the same makeup.

C'mon Gene, have they not suffered enough? That's just mean.

Seems like it'd be the time of year that Gene's accountant will have been able to stall the IRS long enough to figure out that he either owes money or needs to do something that could be construed as a massive tax write off....

2017-09-12 11:09:12 AM
One of Gene's packages from Amazon was slightly delayed due to the hurricane, so technically, he's one of the victims of Harvey.

2017-09-12 11:10:33 AM
I'm sure Simmons will generously give a small portion to the victims in the form of cheap Kiss merchandise that had been returned due to minor defects.

Won't the pyrotechnics fail with all that standing water lying around?

2017-09-12 11:20:14 AM
I'm sure the donation will be well into the 10's of dollars.

That's nice, Gene, but what about Irma?

I thought that the Scorpions invented hurricanes.

2017-09-12 11:44:38 AM
And for the Irma relief concert, Simmons will hire a cut-rate Ace Frehley look-alike.

2017-09-12 11:46:08 AM
Cheap Trick will blow them away on stage.

CSB:
As a youngster, my family lived in Sweden at the height of ABBA's world-wide popularity in the mid-70s.
We lived there the year the King got married to a lady he met at a discoteque, inspiring their power-ballad "Dancing Queen."

This was also around the time Kiss released "Destroyer," and all the teenybopper magazines were covered with pictures of Kiss in their black glam-rocker costumes next to ABBA in their white pop-glam concert outfits.
Sort of a Scandivian Yin-Yang.

Speaking of which,
Do you know why Swedes love Yellow?
Because Yello yiggles when you eat it. (Try saying that last part with a Swedish accent)

I stayed up to watch that. I seem to remember that being on pretty late, but then I was only 9 years old.

I'm a huge fan of cheese movies, and few things are as premium as that cheese.  Key moments that stick out to me:

1.  The Evil Robot Kiss taking "Hotter Than Hell" and changing it to "Rip and Destroy" which caused all the kids to go wild.
2.  The band giving an interview poolside in the heat so that you can see their makeup starting to run.
3.  Ace's thick Jersey accent saying his only line "Insufficient data at dis time, Starchild."

There are a few torrents of this floating around the bay. Of course it is VCR quality, because I don't think Dvds of this were made. And it is 2 .avi files that you need to combine to make the complete movie, but it does exist. I have it on my Plex.

Let's be honest, if you are going to watch this it has to be ripped VCR quality....

Does it have 1978 commercials? Because that would make it totally worth finding.

Post college we watched this movie a lot.  It is terrible, yet awesome.  So many great cheesy lines.

Per wiki: The European edit of the film (which removes most of Ace Frehley's dialogue) is available on DVD as part of Kissology Volume Two: 1978-1991, a collection of concerts and television appearances.

Ace Frehley opened the NY Rangers season a few years back. They had him in the zamboni entrance with giant marshall stacks. He was playing back in the NY groove. IT WAS FARKING AWFUL.

It was so cringe worthy.

I can't imagine how this would reunion would be anything better.

Funny thing.  I live on Lake Erie, and last week was the last in a summer-long music-on-the-pier thing which goes all summer long from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Anyway, the last day of the season, it rained like a motherfarker.  No matter for the pyro crew, they still set those season-ending fireworks off like nobody's business.  We had rain from hell and fireworks to match because WTF?  It was bizarre, but cool at the same time.
