Just wait - it can get crappier. Like when they're a monopoly. Those things aren't related.

We've been giving those assholes billions of dollars to expand phone and broadband Internet service since 1996.  Time to pay up, farkers.

Being told to roll out the infrastructure as the price of exclusivity is a violation of 1st Amendment rights of the corporation?  Thanks, Citizens United

This is what single payer would be like.

Wow.
Huge balls and the tiniest of dicks, Comcast has.

Me too.  I'm just trying to figure out how a monopolistic cable company suing the state government over conditionals for being allowed to maintain the monopoly classify as a valid example of single-payer healthcare.

Maybe he is talking about the pushback from insurance companies if we tried to create single payer.

Even if it wasn't great. Just good enough to stream one video at a time to almost every house in the country would be enough.

wonder what this country would be like if Arlen Specter had never gotten so high on the power ladder

Yeah.  The horror stories of single payer systems from the other 30+ westernized countries on Earth would make you shiver.  The average rural person has to drive 1.7 million miles and pay $90K to be seen by a leprous witch waving rooster entrails.  And all she has to offer is a brick to the face to cure their gout.

It's terrible.

I don't get it. You start as if you're going to talk about other countries, but then just start describing healthcare in America.

The entire state should cut the cord on cable in response.

Sadly, I'm sure that you actually believe that.

Once again, a perfect example of why corporations should not have the same rights as people.
