I do miss the nuclear hot pizza.

I was also unaware of the onion nuggets.. those sound delicious.

I'd like to try the Onion Nuggets. And I'm cool with Super Size offerings, but without the "am I stupid not getting this?" pricing.

Pretty hard pass on the rest of the list.

Me three for the onion nuggets. I like onion petals and bloomin' onions. I am sure I would like the onion nuggets.

I liked the McAfrica, even if it was racist (no Africa is not a single nation, its a continent).

Supersizing a meal has never been removed, and never will. Its just the moron writer who probably also thinks that McRib is a seasonal item. It isn't:

You know, if you guys had a little more perspective, perhaps Trump wouldn't be your farking president.

I liked the Arch Deluxe and the McDLT. I don't eat fast food much but I'd probably have either of those a couple times a year if they were available.

Instead I will have a Big Mac or Quarter Pounder a couple times a year I guess... shrug

They got rid of the "Super Size" moniker in 2004. You can still make your meal a "Large" (the largest possible in 2017, AFAIK), but it's not as big as the old "Super Size" option.

never had the pizza, but I remember seeing something a couple years ago that a franchise in the middle of country still makes it.

I want the snack wraps back.  They were actually pretty good- a chunk of grilled chicken, some lettuce, a decent BBQ sauce and a tortilla.  Not huge on calories and since they had to prepare them fresh they were always hot.

A while back they got rid of all but the ranch sauce ones, which really defeated the purpose since the ranch had more calories in it than the rest of the thing combined.  I pretty much stopped going to McDs at that point.

Oh right. I thought what we called Large in Denmark, was the same as what you called Super Size.

So I learned something today. Woohoo. :D

broadwayLamb: I liked the Arch Deluxe and the McDLT.

Same here.  They were more "adult" oriented burgers.  I also liked the wraps.  I'd often order them instead of a burger those times when encouraged by convenience or forced by circumstance to eat McDonalds.

The McDLT would have been fine but they always undercooked the burger on the ones I bought.  Rare is for steak, not fast food burgers.

They missed the Big N Tasty.  We lived off of the things on a cross-country trip.  The van was 'aromatic' to put it mildly.

I actually liked the McDLT, and I also liked the differently sized Big Macs; obviously not daily food but once in a while.

Also a McDLT fan here. Not sure I ever tried the Arch Deluxe.

I haven't eaten at a McDonald's in probably 10 years.. But for some reason I get this barely controllable urge to go get a Big Mac. I just know it will make me feel disgusting once consumed, which is the one thing that stops me.

I'll crack one day, I'm sure of it.

I liked the McCrab.

2017-09-11 10:53:55 AM
Yeah, if I am desperate enough to eat McDonald's, I just get a Big Mac combo. Meh.

But you are still totally allowed to buy multiple fries to equal the supersize portion, right?

I'm sure soda companies LOVE being forced by law in some places to sell smaller bottles.

List fails without a mention of "Pies other that apple."  The cherry pies were good, as were the some of the seasonal ones like pumpkin.  I heard that McDs even test marketed blueberry and peach pies somewhere.

Yeah, the wraps and deluxe were legitimately not bad.

About 20 years ago, I was in London (yes, England) in December. They had mince pies in the one McDonalds I went into. No, I did not try them.

The MCDLT was awesome, as well as the Arch Deluxe.

I thought there was something closely related on either the dollar menu or 2 for $2(and change).  Presumably the "arch basic".  It was pretty good (don't expect much from McFoodTM).

I hope they had a runcible spoon to eat them with

Not on the list -- Fish McBites. One year they must have gotten way to much of the fish for the McFish in around Lent because you could get these little nuggets with tartar sauce. Only that one year but I loved them.

I think there was a link to a story recently that the last few locations had stopped serving it. I can't seem to find it, but found a story about it: https://munchies.vice.com/en_us/article/7xxawq/the-mcpizza-is-officially-dead

It's been a while but I'm pretty sure my local McD's has wraps still...
I remember the pizza was similar to McCains' early on.  My gf at the time was a manager at one of the test stores and I got to sample some of the proposed stuff.

I liked the Salad Shakers quite well.  Dressing distributed nicely, and the cup configuration made it easy to get a good fork-full for each bite.

The onion nuggets sound pretty damned good, even if just thinking of them I can feel my arteries slamming shut.

I had no idea Mickey Dees no longer had the super size option.  And killed it 13 years ago.  Tells you how often I go to Micky Dees

/ Used to drive from San Diego to Santa Barbara, starting about 1 AM
// San Clemente McDonalds.  Awesome shakes, awesome fries, and something else I don't remember
/// They cancelled the "don't remember", the shakes went to shiat, and we quit stopping there

Should have said, that drive was late 70's, my friend graduated from UCSB in '81 and moved to Japan.

13 years ago? No way! I've asked for biggie size or supersize whenever I order at McD and they just fill the order without correcting me to "large."

We had the Cheddar Melt in Michigan. It was an awesome patty melt substitute.

My first job was at McDonald's and I was working there when the McDLT was first introduced. I was a Big Mac guy up until I had one of those tasty little two-compartment farkers. If they can bring Crystal Pepsi back from the dead then surely the McDLT shall rise again someday!
