Was going to say, not being a candidate is very different than being done with politics. The Koch Brothers for example are active in politics but not really candidates (that I know of) for example.

Sadly, this. I highly doubt Onward Together will be funneling any of their money toward somebody that advocates single payer healthcare, breaking up the too big to fail banks, or reining in Wall Street

Good.  It's 2 years too late, but good.  Not that you had much choice after losing to Donald Trump of all people.

'But I am not done with politics

The important thing is that everyone can continue to demonize her until she dies, and probably even more after that.

The GOP demonizes her.

Those of us old enough to remember back to the Bill Years and those of us who like our politicians to be liberal and intelligent just merely want her to GTFO gracefully and get on with building houses like Jimmy Carter or something where she isn't trying to direct the Democratic Party.

Explain to me what part of "repeating a Republican/Dubya White House scandal by running an outside email server and doing government business on it, especially seeing as how I am Hillary Farking Clinton and the GOP will be all over everything I do as being wrong even if they did it first and were busted for it and it would be hypocritical for them to attack me" was an intelligent move.

Go on.

CipollinaFan: Well, I liked her.

I've never really liked her, but she's extremely experienced, intelligent and has, at the very least, reasonable views on policy matters, even if they're not particularly inspiring or sexy.

The fact that so many self-described democrats and liberals are down on her as if she's a bad candidate really speaks volumes to just how effective right wing noise machines have been for the last two decades. They've not only managed to demonize one of the most skilled and qualified national leaders in politics right now among right-wing rubes, they've managed to demonize her across rubes in general, party-affiliation be damned.

2017-09-10 09:40:00 PM
I voted for Bernie in the primaries, and Hillary in the general, yet I still agree this comes several years too late.

Although I believe she was qualified, I think political dynasties are wrong for a legitimate democracy. The only thing more wrong, is electing idiots and anti-federalists to run the federal government. Fark those tea-tards, racists, and Libertarians. We need a competent federal government to standardize vital infrastructure and services states are ill-eqipped to handle.

2017-09-10 09:40:02 PM
I voted for her, wish she would have won, but this is for the best. She has too much baggage (both self inflicted and otherwise) to be an effective spokesperson for Dems.

That's just it.  They never do.  They always have someone ready to blame. Hell, they had at least three different groups ready to blame before 538 crashed the polls' premature Clinton victory party with their reality of how close it actually was.

Isn't it funny that you and I are from/live in the Rust Belt?  You know, where the Democratic Party leadership in the states was trying to tell the DNC how badly tone-deaf they were and the DNC kept saying "WHAT'S THAT?  CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF HOW AWESOME HILLARY IS!"

Then she lost after having planned on an unbreakable "firewall" in the Rust Belt and ever since then the DNC and the Hillary Water Carriers have been blaming *us* for ruining *their* assumptions.

I think it's interesting that you can't defend your own right-wing conspiracy theorism so you have to pretend I said she's never made a single mistake.

Kind of like how people keeping throwing around the word "worship" for having the gall to say "hey guys, maybe she didn't murder VINCEFOSTER."

Bonus: people who actually assigned religious significance to their candidate when a bird landed on his podium...

What right-wing conspiracy theorism am I engaging in?

Did she not run an outside email server?

Did the Bush White House not have an outside email server at the RNC?

Did she not do government some government business on that server?

Did the Bushies not do government business on their outside server?

Kind of hard to claim that I'm a right-wing conspiracy theorist when I clearly have a problem with something the Chimpy McFlightsuit White House did.

You mad that I think Hillary should have not acted like the Republicans and done things they did?

Please proceed.

I think that's what most disappointing to me.  I like fairness.  The whole 2016 election season was a disgrace to this nation - I mean, really, jokes about penis size in a debate that's supposed to be about the important issues facing this nation? attempting to discredit your opponent by bringing her husband's alleged mistresses to another debate?  getting your followers to chant for her arrest as though conviction by accusation is the standard in this nation?  That's what most disappointing to me.  She didn't lose because of her policies; she lost because she was dehumanized and demonized.  And the victors are taking laps as though we're all better off for this.

skozlaw:

She was a bad candidate.  Regardless of what you may think about her ability to handle the job of being president, she lacked the basic abilities needed to get the job.

As for why some liberals don't particularly like her, there are a lot of bills she voted on in the Senate that run afoul of our values, and her reactions to being questioned on them do not give people much faith in her honesty or sincerity when it comes to her changes of mind.

Not to mention there hasn't been a war that she wasn't eager to fight.
