Because the only quality Donnie looks for is someone who makes him look good, gives him praise and adulation, and kiss his ass.  Once they stop doing any of those things, they're no longer good people.

I knew a guy like that. Moderated a forum for him. I was the bestest, most talented and smartest person in the world until I started going to work. Wouldn't get any support, not even when I begged for it. Then his "friends" started having problems with me (I don't think they actually existed.) Suddenly I was the worst person ever. I quit because it was too much of a hassle.

In retrospect, that person was a lot like Donald J. Trump. Egotistical, a habitual liar, full of grandiose stories, would always get mysteriously quiet and withdrawn whenever I tried to help him resolve a problem, claimed to work with big name people who never seemed to mention him, really farking hated Muslims and Mexicans, and had no loyalty whatsoever.

I think I can empathize with anyone working in the Trump Administration, and I can offer this advice: just get out. Get out now. The longer you wait, the worst it will get. It doesn't matter who you are; he will turn on you, and make your life hell.

I'm guessing Trump thinks that, and Gary hasn't done anything to discourage that belief.

I feel a poem coming on...
scifihorrorfantasy.files.wordpress.com

Tax reform isn't just for the rich

it's for people of each and every niche

.

It's also for the well-to-do

And, it will be great for the affluent too

.

It's especially good for those

who are successful CEOs

.

For most, tax reform is heaven-sent

except for the other ninety-five percent

Also I think I've said this before - getting fired by Trump now may actually be a marketable asset on your resume or CV in some circles.

I have a sister like this. Pathological liar that's always trying to be the hero at other's expense. It took me a long, long time to just cut her off and realize she was not going to change. And I still get hassled by other family members who say "family beats all" Unfortunately you can't change people's minds until they've been stabbed in teh back themselves, especially when they are already invested in the person. And that's what these people are good at. Getting people invested in them.
