Just wait until Donnie learns backing universal heath insurance would raise his poll numbers for the Republican party to truly understand their party's leader.

Trump doesn't care about Party Lines. Trump only cares about Trump and his popularity...he's going to go for anything that makes him look good. Unless it conflicts with anything that might cause his personal/family  empire to lose money.
If this is a good redeeming feature remains to be seen.

Yes. Who desire spending reforms. Which I suspect are tax cuts, cuts to social programs.

I despise Tea Party Republicans. They are set in their ways like grouchy old men who have theirs and hate everyone else. I work with such daily who want to cut benefits, pensions for government workers, while they keep their own benefits, pensions. Plus they're closet racists.

The fact that he craves approval might make him an OK representative of the people if not for the personaloty dosorder and glaring incompetence.

I'm genuinely confused right now. Yesterday, I was wholly sure our control was going to default, again, and go into another government shut down. Did I wake up in opposite land or something? Was President Trump visited by three ghosts in the night? What the fark happened?

I believe at this point the best we could possibly hope for from the incompetent, cartoonish, asshole administration we are saddled with is that they somehow manage to do the right thing for the wrong reason. Hopefully a process that can be repeated until such time as they all end up in a frozen Gulag with the people who put them in charge.

People stopped paying attention to Trump. Trump doesn't like to be ignored. When you ignore Trump he gets angry and things explode.

Most rank-and-file House Republicans don't know Mnuchin

Industrial-grade irony, right there.

So, if I read this right, the GOP is pissed that Trump "went rogue" and made a temporary deal with the Democrats when they (GOP) don't even have a deal on the table, and are baffled as to what a deal might be in December?

Kind of like ACA replacement? They have no clue how to make valid, comprehensive legislation? Because each one of those farks is too busy maximizing their own position/gain to do their job? Kind of how every time they hold office, Democrats spend the next terms fixing things, again?

These turds have no place in legislation. They are a joke, and so are their constituents who are blind to the fact that they do not build, only destroy and profit.
Democrats aren't perfect by any means, but they are orders of magnitude more functional than these clowns!

Scorpitron is reduced to a thin red paste: Underscoring Trump is not the biggest danger. The real danger is, and always has been, the GOP.

The thing is Trump is still belligernet, ignorant, stubborn, racist, and full of self loathing. You can't get him to 180 by just locking him in a room with you, he won't walk out thinking Obama was born in America. You can attack sideways when he doesn't understand anything about the talk at hand (like the debt ceiling)

Trump is the world's worst fascist. He has all the qualities of a fascist, but he doesn't understand the unspoken goal of acquiring total power and wealth and eliminating your enemies.

Like, he doesn't understand what the rest of the GOP is doing: maintaining power by fooling rubes in order to pass tax cuts. He's the ultimate rube, elevated into a position of power.

That's understandable, Brat, but what about his arguments made are YOU upset?

So I plan to leave when I finally retire.

Just remember: This is not a good thing. Trump is not doing this out of the goodness of his heart or because he's had some revelation about how things ought to be done. This is opportunism and pandering. He's nothing but a whore and a pimp. He is evil. He is not our friend, and he is not a good person. The enemy of our enemy is ALSO our enemy, even if he happens to do things that align with our purpose at the moment.

Disagree; it is a good thing. However, that doesn't mean everything else will be good or erase all of the bad things in the past. It means you take advantage of it and grab the good thing while you can and carry on as usual.

I'm going with, either Trump is being petty and lashing out or
He wants to overturn the Republican party and make his own (A la TV ratings)
Or someone told him Obama could never make a deal with the other party, so if he could he'd be so much better.

FTFA:"the treasury secretary clearly did not understand the long-simmering frustrations among conservatives when it came to raising the debt ceiling without spending cuts."

Trying to "cut spending" by not raising the debt limit is like trying to spend less by not your paying your bills. It doesn't work that way jerk-offs.
